Takara has recently developed a bad habit of photographing prototypes.

 

Not even prototypes, but partially-painted test-shots. Earthrise Prime and SS Lockdown are the most vivid in my mind, but when it comes to mainline toys they seem to make this mistake a lot.

 

Are you sure we haven't seen it transformed properly yet? Because it may just be that its alt mode is hot garbage.

 

it’s not a mistake, they promoted grey protos all throughout siege. They enjoy showing the process and development of figures. They also enjoy promoting designs and blueprints too in these magazine. That’s all

 

Hahaha That's how I order myformers this way I don't have any regrets when doing the deed. But next morning and a hangover later.....

 

Sky Lynx looks so great! At no discredit to Sky Lynx, I've seen the size, hes in scale in his "Robot Modes" but he makes me desire for an even bigger, far more MASSIVE transforming Space Shuttle / Space Craft / Ship.
Every since their creation, all boys have loved Space Shuttles, I've never met a boy that wouldn't love a huge Shuttle, I'm sure it would sell well among many demographics.

Could we one day see the creation of a Titan Class Galaxy Shuttle? I sure hope so

 

If you're right then it's a difference of grabbing 0 of them instead of 3 or 4 as planned to go with the 6 TR Gnaws I already have.

 

The Alicon is a disaster. Barely transforms and just kibbletastic. For the Gnaw mold it works and is forgiven. Having its hands in its altmode feet. But thats a legends class. Seems they took that design and used the same esthetic for a deluxe. Bad choice. Its a mess.

 

I'm I seeing this correctly? The Lnyx mode of Skylynx has a double tail?

Yeah, they could also be betting on the majority of us who are just happy to finally be getting an Allcon just keeping him in his bot form.

To be fair I've rarely transformed or combined Refractor and eventually bought 3. But I didn't pay full price for a single one. Plus I can also sub them out with the small Reflector's that came with Scrapnal like others have in pictures for scale.

Allicons on the other hand, I was really looking forward to its creature mode. Which looks flat out stupid in every picture I've seen so far. Plus with so much focus one quality that the SIEGE line had provided us with most Dlx's, Voyager's, Commander and Titan line last year, who could blame us for being a little reluctant with Earthrise figures?

I have 2 Allicons on preorder and time will tell if that remains.

 

Sky Lynx is shaping up to being the MVP of this line so far which is saying a lot from me since I was never that fond of him growing up.

With the Allicon I think it's fair to say that it looks incomplete. I now realize that it's been confirmed that this deco is not the same as the one show at the NY Toy Fair.

So it could be a similar scenario to OP with the grey hands.

Hopefully we'll get pictures of the final product that is transformed correctly and we'll get them soon.

 

How many repaints of MP-10 does this make? It has to be over 15, at least.

Sky Lynx looks fantastic. I really want to pick him up. And it's good to see Overload's entire cabin is painted rather than just one side.

 

Just checked the cartoon,...you’re absolutely correct!!!! I never had the G1 SkyLynx so I didn’t know. So glad I preordered this right after Toyfair.

 

That Smokescreen looks so good, but the weapons look way unfinished. I realize this is on a Hasbro budget and there's always going to be a lot of paint on his car mode, but I may have to bring out the old spray cans for this.

 

Weapons are also frequently placed on the more durable "unpaintable plastic" sprues.

We should be thankful that he has all three of his weapons this time, instead of how the guns were split up across the variants in Siege.
