I would like to take this opportunity to one again point out just how well-done and accurate the sculpted detail on these Studio Series molds can be. You can really tell they are leaps and bounds above the concept art-originated figures of the earlier films' toylines. Of course, it's not always accompanied by the proper paint applications to bring it truly to life, but it's still there if the owner so desires to do that themselves.

Take a look at Sentinel's head and neck / collar area, compared to the Prime 1 Studio statue:



It's missing gold and red paint apps, sure, but the entire gamut of sculpted detail is present and accurate. It's awesome to see. His head is also extremely well done (and made more life-like in a similar fashion to the upgrade from ROTF Jetfire to SS Jetfire). And one other great detail - the backsides of the panels that fold in to form his chest contains those cylinder-like parts that sit behind the windows. That's an awesome detail that has not been included on any mainline Sentinel figure, to my knowledge!

 

This guy surpassed my expectations. Seriously, had Hasbro included more paint apps,ankle tilt, weapon accessories and the pillars, they probably could have pushed this to a leader class pricepoint and i would gladly pay for it. Even the vehicle mode looks fine with the rest of the line (i know it should be so much larger). Given this, i have $20 to spend on any upgrade kit that comes his way.

I don't - and will never - drink. One day I realized what a great mother I had growing up to choose the 24-7 job of being a parent over the freedom of not having children and how dedicated she was to that duty, and now that she passed away so young, I've decided the best way to give her the legacy she deserves is to be a good man to prove she didn't waste her life raising me, and my father taught me through his mistakes how alcohol can just about tear people and families apart, so I'm never touching liquor. This isn't to say I look down on or have any issue with others who drink, - that's your freedom - but I refuse to do it out of dicipline.

 

That's cool man, that post was meant to be in jest.  

Personally I have maybe a beer a year, as my youth is long behind me.

 

Yeah I realize I sounded a little bordering on self-righteous there so I'll reply with a meme.

Got my Sentinel Prime in!



Some issues I have with the figure that I was only able to discover in-hand:

- The vehicle mode is rather long and thin-ish.
- Head articulation is really, really bad. The head in the picture with Sentinel doing the Iron Man pose is popped off its ball joint.
- The waist does indeed have articulation, albeit limited. It's however rather lose and doesn't tab in securely.
- The chest is actually slanted down at an angle versus the rest of his body. This is a deliberate design choice and makes it really weird as Sentinel is looking up if you pose him standing straight.
- The back of the vehicle mode is really hard to tab together securely. Might be limited to my copy, but the back keeps popping apart.

 

How is it people are getting this early besides it being in Singapore?

 

Can he hold the the hose as a gun? Does it have a peg?

Is the grey plastic a similar shade to what they've just used on Jet Shatter? I didn't like it much on her, and Sentinel appears to be made entirely out of the one shade of plastic. It'll be a bummer if that shade is the same as her's, or something similarly drab.
