Saw this. Haven't seen this before. I guess it's common in Japan, and supposedly are going to start showing up in the United States. I wonder how Ironhide would look.?
Honestly that’d be a pretty great alt mode for a more super heroic series where the autobots all have first response and futuristic military, GI Joeish type alt modes.
That'd make for a pretty dope alt mode for Ironhide. I was just gonna post a dumb joke about Inferno feeling not so unique cuz 'Hide jacked his steez, but this is a pretty awesome truck.
So, like Rescue Bots but with a more G1-esque cast? I'd watch that! (I like both Rescue Bots and G1, so a combination of the two would be cool.)
That's a cute, tough little truck. I think it would feel sufficiently different from other fire trucks that it would work. A TF series where the Autobots are all emergency, construction or utility vehicles would be very nice.
Wasn’t the main animated Autobots all emergency vehicles? Optimus being a fire truck, prowl was a police motorcycle, ratchet an ambulance, bulkhead a police swat vehicle and bumblebee was fanzones police car.
Ironhide as an armored truck fits better than a fire truck IMO, but I do think that fire truck would fit him well.
Yeah, I can think of at least three Autobot firetrucks in G1 alone. Ironhide being one would push him or those others aside.
Actually I was thinking more along the lines of Animatedish with like a DCAU or anime like art style.
@Rewind Eject came up with the idea for an armored truck Ironhide a while back, and it works, but this particular fire truck would work if you're looking to replicate G1 Ironhide with a new alt mode. Inferno, Heatwave, or Animated Optimus. Either way, it's still a good find.
Bumblebee was just a car and I hesitate to categorise a military green APC intended to deliver armed troops as a emergency vehicle but yes. Animated was more serious about the military/non-military split. Even more so with flying vehicles. I worded it that way to exclude sports cars from the Autobots because I think it'd be nice if there was a show where they were categorised as "evil" vehicles. Give car Decepticons a bit of an identity as bored upper-class jerks who're hunting Autobots for the fun of it.
Huh...that's an interesting concept, actually. In G1, it seemed like most car Decepticons were unhinged (e.g., the Stunticons and the Battlechargers), but this would be an equally interesting idea. Maybe Mirage (or an equivalent character) could also be a sports car, and that's why the other Autobots distrust him.
The correct term is 'unmarked police car' since Fanzone actually used his car with a cherry siren more often than an actual police car, so Bumblebee counts. Have you even SEEN some of the things that SWAT officers deploy out of these days? It's genuinely military grade. SWAT Trucks for Sale | Bulletproof Cars, Truck & Vehicles - Inkas Armored
