noo....not "to each their own". This game isn't Magic. 7 SRT?! That's crazy flipping crazy. Wreckgar I'm with you. Hasbro better make the odds of finding these MUCH better than 1 per box. And with the "DLC" for past SRTs. Hasbro isn't making this game accessible for the casual player.

No company that sells a game as a collectible or trading card game will ever make it that the odds of pulling a Super Rare card more than 1 per box. It may be a card game for us, but it is a business to them. They all want their $$. Super rares are that rare for a reason (hence the term 'super rare').

But I am curious. With all the venues available to acquire cards, be them by buying boxes, packs, or even single cards, and that we also have the option to trade with others instead just buying/selling, how is this game not "accessible to the casual player" again? Nothing is out of reach. No offense, but your statement was rather an exaggeration, no?

With a 1:30 ratio, odds are you're going to pull either the SRT you want, or the SRTs you can trade for the SRT you want. It's in your favor.

How is it not accessible to the casual player? Half of the decks that place top 8 in tournaments aren't even rares, they're uncommons for the main bot. The game is insanely accessible to all players, even as far as meta decks go.

How much are the wave 1 double pip cards going for now?...

also the half that place in the top 8 probably aren’t in the top 4...

this game is definitely pay to win and it’s been that way from the start. They lost me in wave 3 when they basically completely changed the meta with every set

Relevance? Seeing as one can easily trade for those cards vs only having the option to buy them.

Bullshit. Again refer to above. If this game was regulated to *only* buying cards, then you'd have a point. There are plenty of people out there that will trade for those cards and such exchanges are easily performed. It's not like it is some hidden quest to find the very reclusive hermit on the most difficult mountain that can only be done on February 29. Pay to win. pfft! Did you even pay attention to what you typed?? I swear this type exaggeration is reaching absurd levels now.

I guess I’m in the middle here. I definitely see and don’t begrudge anyone for being on either side. Hasbro needs to make money and this more SRTs definitely make some people buy and spend more. But the game is definitely accessible to everyone at a casual level. I have plenty of fun with my Predaking deck as much as a Galaxy Prime.

The only thing I will point out is the winners of each event thus far. You can go far in any tournament without high cost cards but at a high compedative level we have yet to see a non high cost card take the championship.
    ..
Energon Invitational winner - Galaxy Prime
    Gen Con winner - Cliffjumper
Origins - Op Battlefield Legends (when it was high cost)

But CybertronianFan is a great guy and I’ve traded with him a few times. He brings up a great point for those who don’t care to collect everything. Trading can get you anything you want if you don’t want them all.

My problem is that I want them all

If you think they design this game to maximize fun and playability and not profits then we are going to have to agree to disagree. 7 SRTs with 1 in 30 chance is BS no matter how you cut it. It’s like when mtg (another card game by the same company) said mythic rares wouldn’t be tournament staples and then...

I'm the one that originally stated that WotC is in this for the $$ in case you missed my post above. Hell yeah they want you to spend $$. They're a business for pete's sake. However, we the players are not WotC. If you think all of us are in it only for profiteering off others, then you're mixing with the wrong crowd. Many of us prefer the trade vs the buying/selling. Many of us want to see the game thrive and see players actually get a chance to enjoy the game vs have them think they are 100% obligated to sink hundreds and hundreds of $$ to get into the game (honestly, I truly think this pushes people away than attract them). That makes this game very far from 'pay to win' as you stated above.

And 7 SRTs in a set with 1:30 isn't BS. As said, REPEATEDLY, above. If you don't get the SRT you want, you'll still get a SRT to trade for the one you want. If you're still stuck only on the buy/sell mentality, you can sell the SRT you got to then eventually pick up the one you want. The odds are truly in your favor. Everyone has more than only just the option to buy cards they're seeking.

You are aware the OP isn't also a triple changer this set, yes? I like that they didn't make them into triple changers. I thought it was a cop out of Hasbro to make OP and Megs remolds of Octone and Blitzwing.

The Megatron for sure. But I rather like the Octane Prime. Was always a fan of the G2 tanker tho which is why I only kept the Chaos on Velocitron one

I call bs on this. I took second with an all common and uncommon Aerialbot build at our last local tournament. The tourney had all the usual suspect decks, OPBL, Shockwave, Cliffy, Slipstream, etc.

Now if you want to win the big events, then yeah, you’ll want to have access to as many cards as you can. But all CCG’s are that way. But I’d argue you can go farther with a limited pool in Transformers than most games.

Heck, an Aggro Springer and Air Patrol deck can be built with entirely commons if you want and do pretty damn well. Allow yourself in uncommons and I’d be comfortable taking that to a tourney.

Hi there, Newish to the game (since Christmas). Regarding wave 5 how is it possible to get Perceptor? I'm based in the UK.

Only 1 way: Buy it from a local gaming store that has the BAB (Buy A Box) promo card sent to them. At the moment, I do not know of many online places that are partake of that promo card. Speak to your local gaming store that is a WPN (Wizards Play Network) member.

If unable to acquire one this way, the only other way I can think of is if people will offer up the promo card for sale or trade (all pending) when (if) they receive them.
