    Ok, gotcha.

I agree about that era of figures as well. I don’t think I plan on keeping anything from that line. The voyagers were the best part of it but they’ve all been replaced with figures I like better, like TR Blitzwing and WfC Springer.

The deluxes on the other hand were like you said, cheap feeling and small. A disappointment all around IMHO, including Trailbreaker, which I never bought upgrades for and why I seemed surprised.

Just opened my Hoist and he is easily my favorite of the Deluxes and second overall in ER behind Prime.

I first like how he looks compared to the Thrilling 30 mold. T30 wasn't bad but it seemed...off. Not to mention my copy had some loose joints and a skewed Autobot tampo on his chest. But ER Hoist is bulky, has tight joints and is an overall joy. I even like his tow section has some functionality. The only thing I didn't like at first was the weathering on his chest/hood but it has grown on me. He's a utility truck. He's not supposed to look pristine forever.

That looks great. Really gives him some much needed bulk in the lower legs. How's the stability in alt mode?

Really good. There is a seam now but it's not too noticeable 15842179379541043359370502223551.jpg

Well, you've convinced me. I just bought a fine blade razor saw off Amazon so I can give this a try.

This guy doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of love in the boards. I picked him up before things shit down but saving him for a boring day in. Am I going to be let down?

Me too, tho I assumed the lower halves would have been attached to the camper instead of the lower legs, and then just fold inside. I'm really surprised they didn't do that.

I personally quite like him. More than a couple days fun for me anyway.

At one point, I was satisfied with this as G1 Hoist.

Just opened mine. He's great! There is no bad pose you can put him in. He looks fantastic in action poses, and just as importantly looks fantastic in casual poses. I even like his giant orange gun a lot more than I expected. Apart from a QC issue where they forgot to paint one of his tail lights, my only real criticism is that there's no reason they couldn't have made the ridges on the top of his towing platform taller so that he could actually tow a deluxe size car. It's bizarre that they didn't do that.

    Art Bois represent!

One of the things I'm really going to miss when they eventually get rid of the ankle rocker gimmick (and let's face it, it's primarily in order to facilitate the weaponizer gimmick for this line. I don't see it staying once this trilogy is over) is the ability to make the figures look like they've shifted their weight subtly in a standing pose.

I will attempt this mod when Trailbreaker comes out. Thanks for the demo.

This figure is great. The front of the vehicle mode is a bit silly looking, but overall Hoist is a great representation of his G1 self.
