Thanks for posting this! I saw it, and I too put a preorder in at Amazon Japan for mp-50 tigatron. $165. It took me awhile because I tried multiple times to use my Amazon prime USA account credentials. I then missed the button to check out as an international customer. Google searches and answers on Reddit directed me to the steps to follow. Then discover card didn't work. Now I know for the next one! Will Amazon Japan help with an quality issues the figure may have upon arrival?
You can get a replacement as long as they have them in stock, otherwise they just refund your money after you return your original
I had to do an exchange for MP Dinobot. They covered return shipping, but I had to pay for it first and then they credited me it a few days after it arrived in their warehouse.
I received an email from Amazon Japan that mp-50 would be shipping 10-3 / 10-6-2020. Seems pretty far out for them to be able to know that or speculate on that. Lol. Anyone else getting these emails updates?
I think that might be the estimated delivery date. Sounds about right, depending on where you live. Release date is still September 26.
I would not be surprised if the release date on this and many other releases gets pushed back, at the best of times MP releases can be delayed... right now... everything is on the back-burner, and rightfully so. I'll be happy to get it when we get it and have my fingers crossed for excellent materials, engineering, paint and QC across the board.
I’d assume there will be a delay of at least 2 months for Tigatron. I haven’t got a clue how the industry operates or is affected right now but let’s say toy companies are losing money like everyone else and can’t get any new products out at the moment- there’s gonna be a huge backlog of items which they’ll need to try to rush out ASAP to get back on course- so factories will be under pressure, get overwhelmed which could result in sloppier work and more QC issues and, in order to recoup some of their losses over this period, companies could opt to use cheaper, inferior materials. So, if TT are in trouble and need to release a heavy hitter next to make some quick bucks, would the profit margin be bigger for a large guy like Rhinox or a squirt like Rattrap?
Urrghh.. I hadn't even considered that last part about rushing stuff out. I have my fingers crossed TT wont want to damage the brand any further after the pretty big fuck up that was Hound. Obviously loss of production capacity and income due to Covid-19 puts a totally different slant on that but I'd hope they'd want to reignite confidence it the brand not damage it further by putting out something sub-par just to make a quick buck. In the long run it's not gonna do them any favours. Two months sounds totally plausible. I don't want it to be the case but I'd rather get a quality product later than a shoddy one sooner. To be fair if that becomes their strategy they wont mess about with Rhinox or Rattrap they'll go for an iconic G1 character, Soundwave V2 or Starscream V3... if its Beast Wars they'll likely go for someone like Big Convoy to rake the big bucks. Just look how quickly they put out that Lio Convoy reissue, they're clearly confident that can make them some easy money in the short term.
Got my Tigatron preorder locked in at the price I wanted. All the beast wars figures have been great, Leo Convoy included.
Congrats on your preorder! Not to derail thread, how do the dangling lion legs in robot mode look in hand ? Do they get in the way of posing? Thanks
I think I saw similar post from another member as well. I plan to preorder mine from AJ to Canada as well this time, just wonder how am I supposed to get the custom refund? Do I need to go to some website to apply for it ? Hope you can help. Thanks!
Nope. If customs ends up lower than expected you'll get an email automatically, sometimes even weeks after it arrives, saying you are getting a refund. I think I've had that email even as late as a month later after release. Just forget about it and you might end up with a bonus.
I got $30 back on MP-43 almost two months after it shipped... long after I'd forgotten about it, haha. Was a nice surprise!
