Complaining about complaining gets no one anywhere. Constructive criticism is helpful but we aren't going to enforce that here, this isn't an appreciation thread. Feel free to complain. Whether you support or don't support the size decrease(I don't), this is inevitable as prices go up and people have their limits to what they'll tolerate.

Just agree to disagree if you don't like what your fellow members are saying. Ultimately only sales or lack thereof will affect Hasbro's decision making and whether all of us or none of us are onboard with that, might not matter in the long run.

Nice figure. Shame it doesn't come with all the parts needed to be complete (the Powermaster partners). Perhaps this is Hasblo's way of milking customers, just like Bakara does with "fluff" accessories to bump up the price of MP figures?

Doubledealer looks great, I’ve had my preorder in since toyfair and that’s not about to change. Paired with the set of his powermasters he’s going to look even better.

His height doesn’t bother me, he’s clearly bulkier than Astrotrain and looks to be significantly heftier in his alt modes too. I like the look of him so much I’ll happily buy him again if he gets remolded into Machine Wars Soundwave.

I get why people complain about the pricetag but I do wonder how many of these same people gladly threw the same price at Takara voyagers for a few extra dabs of paint. But yes it does largely come down to ‘can your budget handle $50 leaders’ and if the answer is no then this product isn’t for you.

I assume they just may not have fit in the leader class budget. At least they're making them, though I did expect them to be by themselves as a mainline $10 release and not in Selects.

The figure itself is Voyager size, but its being released in the Leader Scale. Scale in War for Cyberton line is not equivalent to Size. This has been talked about since Siege.

Hasbro touts it as a mode.
Complaining about price right now, is a moot point.
Maybe you should just wait for when there's a sale, so that it can fit into your budget.

I'm not so sure. Other "essential" figures, such as Spinister's Targetmaster partners have also been sold in (two?) extra packs, for example.

Size does not equal quality. People pay upwards of $60 for figma figures that don't even transform. War for Cybertron has been a massive undeniable increase in quality for the main line.

Just putting it out there: G1 Doubledealer wasn't the biggest bot either; dwarfed by PMOP (in super mode; a similar size to the cab-bot), and not much different in size (if at all) from the other regular G1 Powermasters.
I also think DD is a bit like TR Overlord; always destined to be constrained in size somewhat by the size-choice of his Powermasters.
Thank goodness they went the larger cassette route, rather than titanmaster size!
That was one reason I skipped on TR Overlord: he was too small for mine (and too lacking; Fans Hobby answered my Overlord prayers with their phenomenal DoubleEvil!)
Earthrise Doubledealer looks great, and even if he's a little short, he still looks bigger, bulkier and more badass than his G1 counterpart. He looks to have quite a few extra features too, and while it is a bit cheap to make people buy the cassettes separately, I'm skipping on them anyway (due to them no longer being essential to the figure's transformation).

Don't pretend as if people didn't complain about the cost of Transformers until we were in the middle of a global pandemic.

If someone is that hard up for money the cost of a Transformer is the furthest thing from their mind.

Just incase you or others have not seen it yet. With it being an exclusive, not sure how/if they could advertise it on his box but its probably in the instructions A924EE40-9A63-4E07-B486-02C7E9710285.jpeg

Good thing I didn't say it did. I was addressing more than one subject in that post, and for the record I don't like the quality of this figure at all. Size being the least of it's problems. But if you like it great. I won't dismiss you or anyone else as a whiner for it.

I personally just feel that if HasTak expects greater masses to continue paying for Leader class figures, they'll have to step their game up since in case your weren't listening to all that I said, "Figma figures" might be preparing for Chapter 11 already for all we know.

I can\'t say I\'m into this, but at least Doubledealer has always looked like they stapled a beast mode into a truck transformer.  I\'m not up on his lore, but he\'s perfectly set up to say his third mode is a late upgrade.

Good Smile Company, the company that produces figma, is going just as strong as ever, same as all the Japanese import companies that make ~5-6 inch figures that sell for $60-90 like Bandai with SH Figuarts, Medicom with MAFEX, and Kaiyodo with Revoltech.

So Doubledealer's packaged in his Autobot robot mode(which makes sense, it takes up less volume), but he has nothing but Decepticon symbols on his packaging.

    ...what.

Historically, he utilizes one of his robot modes when he deals with Autobots(the humanoid one) and the other robot mode when he deals with Decepticons(the beast one). No idea what they've changed about it since.

Putting them in exclusives definitely sucks and Shrute shoulda been mass retail like Singe but again, budget. You’re not gonna sell a tall deluxe plus two battlemasters for 20 bucks. They can’t fit them into the normal budget so they use the separation to their advantage.

I think DD looks......AMAZING! It's pretty much everything I could want, my only constructive criticism would be that I would appreciate panels to cover the inner legs, at this point that's about it. I understand that Hasbro has a budget and the extra plastic and parts count needed for such a thing probably exceeds their budget, ultimately it's not a huge deal.

The size issue....still? I see people saying that he is NOT a Leader Class, well the box clearly says Leader so that statement is factually incorrect. I think what people are trying to say is that he is not as TALL as PWT Leaders which is factually true HOWEVER, as proven with other WFC Leaders, he is likely in the Leader Class weight range and parts count range. There was a Seibertron article that weighed CW UM and Siege UM, Siege UM weighed MORE, they also weighed Siege Astrotrain W accessories and he was the same average weigh of a Leader, they weighed Astrotrain WITHOUT accessories and he weighed MORE than the average Voyager AND had a higher parts count/complexity.

So the real issue appears to be height specifically. WFC Leader are shorter than PWT Leaders however they are also of a much HIGHER quality, have less hollowness and are in scale with each other. Look back, very few Decepticons were bigger than Megatron.

......................So as long as you love anything HasTak shoves into a Transformers box everything is splendid....?

Strongly doubt that it's in Hasbro's best interest to feel this way when things start springing back to normal. So I urge Hasbro to continue listening to all feedback to gain BETTER OVERALL INTEL in order to broaden the TF brand.

I'm skipping this particular figure and sticking with the T30 version of DD that in my 500+ TF figure collection. I'm quite sure that doesn't warrant being cast out of the hobby or leaving it in a hissy fit...
