Actually.. I'm pretty sure you could still redownload those as long as you have your account.

Yep, digital games on XB are tied to accounts and delisted titles can still be redownloaded by people that purchased them when they were still available.

MS are probably never going to turn off the infrastructure for 360 either as they are using it for back compatibility.

Well I certainly don’t deny that. I’m just say neither format really gives a guarantee that you will be able to play the game forever. At least when modern games are concerned.

What a trash ass company. I don’t want them to go under because I think it would hurt the game industry and because there are some customers who rely on them for certain stuff but they are a very hard company to defend.

Not Turtles and X-men because Konami doesn't have the rights.

Have you checked your download history or just the store?

Trust me everyone been thru this process 7 or so years ago when they took them off the download list. If you have it it's yours, as long as you have a 360. I believe when Disney brought Marvel the Konami rights went away.

Because physical copies cannot be taken away ala Silent Hills. In addition, I don't have to pay for it repeatedly like Nintendo eshop, and not everyone wants to re-download a game when the mood hits.

    YES THEY CAN.

Any modern game/movie can pretty much be yanked from you at any damned time, and all you'd have left is a coaster. THAT IS EASILY POSSIBLE.

Same could be said for digital games, but with that you’ll end up a drug addict with no crack.

And how, pray tell, are they going to do that? Even if they block your system somehow, you can pull the iso from the disc and use an emulator.

Well if you're going to go the emulator route... doesn't really matter if you have the disk or not does it?

Essentially screwed is what they are. The essential service is just a hail mary.

So Gamestop said they are going curbside. What does that mean? Also, what about my preorder for RE3? I had paid for half of it a few weeks ago. Does that mean I just go there on the third, pay the rest off, and then pick it up?

No idea about curbside. Almost sounds like you stay in your car and employees come out to your car and helps you.

But I wouldn't pre-order a damn thing from them going forward. I think if they declare bankruptcy it may mean they don't have to honor your pre-order or refund your money. Not entirely sure though.

I bid Gamestop a heartfelt DIAF, with how they screw North American PC gamers out of Collector Edition swag on EVERYTHING by contracting it all as exclusives and then saying "nope, not for you PC untermenschen, only console gamers welcome here."

I think it might be. Best Buy's doing something like that now, where people wait outside, and they tell employees what they want, the employees go to the store and try to get what the customers want, and transactions take place outside. At least that's what I gather from the mass email I got from them. At least them I can see a case for since most people are relying on technology to stay in touch and those working from home are at the mercy of their computers not breaking down.

Like I said, I already paid for half of it, so they have to give me my money back if they don't give me the item.

Also, I can't really help not buying something from them when Hasbro is giving them exclusive figures.

Best Buy's is a bit different. I just picked up Doctor Sleep from there. You have to order the item online for instore pick up, show your ID and your order from their website, and they grab you the item.

Honestly though, if I hadn't already paid $30 for RE3 at Gamestop, I would order it from Best Buy since they are paying their employees whether they are working or not.

Just got the following email from GameStop:

    To Our Valued Guests,

Over the last week, you've continued visiting our stores to purchase the entertainment and connectivity products and devices that are enabling you to find some degree of normalcy in these very trying times. We thank you for your continued loyalty to GameStop and your trust in us to deliver the products that you need. With customer and employee safety as our paramount concern, we're announcing a new way of making our stores and our wide array of gaming, accessories and collectibles products accessible to you during this time.

    New Store Pickup Procedure: Delivery@Door

Beginning today, Sunday, March 22, only employees will be allowed inside our stores. To continue to serve you from these locations, we are offering a contactless delivery service called Delivery@Door at all store locations across the country where state or local laws allow. The process is simple - just go online via GameStop.com or the GameStop App to place your order and simply select the pick up option for your local store. Your order confirmation email will contain additional instructions, including a notice when your order is ready and the phone number of the store. Just call when you arrive and one of our associates will meet you at the door with your product. Of course, you can also continue having items delivered to your doorstep also through GameStop.com or the GameStop mobile app. If, for any reason, you were unable to order your products in advance and the product is in stock in the store, one of our associates can also assist you while you remain in your car. Credit Card chip only transactions can be processed onsite.

While we are operating under Delivery@Door protocols, we will not be able to accept returns and exchanges. We will, however, be adjusting our exchange and return policy to allow you more time to return recent purchases once our stores are fully reopened. Finally, in order to ensure your and our associates utmost safety, we have temporarily suspended our product-trade-in service. Please make note that we have reduced our store operational hours to 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

    Our Associates

It is important to take a moment to recognize the unending commitment and efforts of our store associates during this time. They are truly passionate about the service they provide our customers and the gaming community. All U.S. GameStop employees have been ensured that they do not have to work if they are not comfortable, or need to stay home to care for a family member. They have also been instructed to stay home if they feel sick or in any way they may have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19. GameStop will pay all U.S. employees impacted by this an additional two weeks at their regular pay.

We thank you again for your patience and loyalty and look forward to continuing to provide you with the gaming, entertainment, and connectivity products you require to stay virtually connected while at home.

SO um yeah, this is great. I called my Gamestop up after I last posted here and it turns out that paying for half of the game means nothing as they are not allowed to touch that amount already in the system as I have to pay for the whole thing online in full and wait for their stores to fully reopen before I can get my $30 back. Well that's lovely. That means I now have $30 frozen I can't touch at this moment in time.

    Best Buy it is.
