My job canned 30 people, after spending the last week making absurd demands, and many of them working their ass off trying to make it happen... They mostly succeeded, and their appreciation was to pull this shit.

I wasn't canned, but I know some who were. I'm angry at how they've been screwed over. Some of them were loyal to this shit hole. Frankly I expect there to be more, and would not be surprised if I'm axed before this is done.

They seriously shot themselves in the foot too. Some of those canned were not as expendable as they think, and it's going to shatter morale as they have friends still here.

I took a nasty spill on my bike. My knees look a bit look ground beef, my shoulder hurts when it moves, and I've got some swelling.

Just got confirmation that my employer is closing up shop for at least two weeks. I may get a day or two of work this week to finalize the shutdown but then its collecting unemployment for a while.

Winter sucks (damn that stupid cold front my city and parts of Canada been getting since yesterday, couldn't go anywhere yesterday and today - but on the plus side, no snow)

Stop confusing my garden babies, weather!  It should not be 50 degrees with less than 10 days to Christmas! We ain't southern California! My plants are trying to sprout when they should be dormant!

I know 50 degrees in the winter sounds awesome, but not when its almost constantly wet and keeping the snow pack low which will result in a drought next summer. Plus the damn bugs are already emerging!

Thank God my neighbor seems to have gotten my note about the goddamn music. Its bad enough that she decided to cook at 2 am Sunday before last and set the fire alarm off (no idea if she fell asleep, but there was smoke in the hallway) making the building evacuate and me have to spend twice as much time outside as everyone else because the fire dept used a fan at her door to clear the smoke and that terrified my cat so I couldn't return to my apartment until almost 3 (cat was with me as always, if I'd left her in the apartment she'd have probably peed everywhere on the way to a heart attack. Miraculously she held said pee until we got back in despite being moderately incontinent normally, go figure), she also started forgetting to turn her music down during quiet hours so I'm a little sleep deprived! :p  :p  :p  I left a note on her door 'cause I couldn't trust myself to be civil to her face.

    Update: fuuuuuck...nevermind.

I don't even bother leaving the apartment when the fire alarm goes off these days. I just ignore it, especially if it's in the middle of the night. If it turns out to be a real fire and I die then so be it. Though, due to the size of the apartment buildings, you can usually tell if it is a legit fire or not. Last week there was some jackass pulling the alarms around the complex to several of the buildings.

Here its usually 'someone fell asleep while cooking' small fires. Used to have a lot of problem with jackasses pulling alarms, too, until the police cleared out the drug dealers and the fire department caught some others in the act; and then there was the laundry room fire at midnight on Halloween about 4 years ago that took out all of our machines, triggered the fire doors, and nearly burned through the brick wall to the recycle room, caused by maintenance not regularly clearing the air hoses. The smoke and chemicals from dryer sheets circulated for a month. :p  We also have a number of people who the firemen are supposed to evacuate because they're physically disabled but tbh realistically cannot be (and weren't during the laundry room fire, which caused the death of one), so its a good idea for anyone who can walk to evacuate just in case so as not to be an unnecessary burden. I seriously have never lived in a building with this much actual fire activity. Or newly-refurbished elevators that have broken arms. Or regular funeral home transport van visits, not to mention every other day ambulance calls. Living in elderly & disabled public housing sure is exciting!

And the neighbor did end up remembering to turn her music off after about 20 minutes, but that was a long 20 minutes.o_O

Looks like I'm getting forced to work an overnight double shift tonight into Christmas Eve morning. So I'm going to get home at 4 PM on Christmas Eve after working 16 hours and I'll have no choice but to force myself to stay awake until that night so that I can actually be up with my girlfriend on Christmas morning.

Well this blows. We ordered a ton of anime Blu-Rays for our friends on Nov 25th from Rightstuf. We're having our party tonight with them and the gifts are still not even in our state. -_-

2020 just needs to end now.

My wife and oldest daughter both tested positive for Covid about a week ago.

Someone hit my wife and youngest daughter in my Jeep Commander on Friday evening. The shop called today and said it's totaled.

And my wife's grandfather might be dying.

    Fuck.

When I went downstairs from my bedroom to get some breakfast, I accidentally injured my left foot and now.... it hurts like hell every time I tried to walk.

What a great way to start my routine today.

Spending Christmas with the parents and and my brother over at his house......On the second day now.

    Already contemplating suicide.

Seriously almost every conversation ends in a fight.

Just gonna stay by myself in the guest room and try avoiding everyone.

Been a shitty year, and leave it to my family to make it shittier.

I'm so sick of feeling worthless and being treated like a failure.

Why the hell did they invite me?
