This is a bit "cool story bro" but I finally saw MP-44 'in the flesh' as it were today (in a display case at Forbidden Planet London) and I have to admit... he looked better than I had expected. The white is not as jarring in person as I find in in photos and the paint, sculpt and overall finish is really nice. The backpack however is still pretty unacceptably massive IMO. Having gotten myself an MS-01 to replace my MP-10 (and I continue to really be happy with it) I have to conseed MP-44 does look better overall(from the front at the very least). However I still don't find him to be worthy of the price tag.

    Nice one mate

Forgot about Forbidden planet. I'll try pop down there in the next few weeks and check him out. I haven't seen it yet myself.

I simply adore 44. Can't wait for the black version to be out, this mold was made to be admired in different flavors!!!!

I’m not usually one to get the same mold in different colors (MP Shockwave being the only exception for me so far), but I’d absolutely get MP-44 in the Evangelion colors that MP-10 had.

I received my MP-44 yesterday. It's so cool to have it in hand. Thirty-five years, wow. I'm looking forward to cutting the tape when I have more time.

The display they have with the various MP figures is cool (even if a few look like they've been mistransformed by Hasbro employees :p ) but if you're going to buy MP44 I wouldn't recommend from forbidden planet, they were selling for £500 last I checked, whereas Kapow and TFS-Express and ShowZ were all around the £330-360 mark.

Yup the price tag at FP is absolutely insane, rather than the regular insane you'll find elsewhere ;)

He's really very solid. The way the legs come together is both beautiful and makes me wonder did it really need to be that complicated at the same time considering they don't look that good in vehicle mode. I like the rounded head a lot more in person than I did in pictures.

The amount of different ways you can configure the various parts of his trailer and roller seem almost overwhelming. I like to display all the various things a figure can do, but I'm not sure I will in this case.

Oh I have been for some time and remain firmly off the fence due to cost. No way was I ever gonna pay more than I've ever paid for an MP before when around 50% of what's in the box I didn't want and the 50% I liked still had a few issues.

I've only touched the main piece. Some minor paint flaws/scratches out of the box but nothing awful. Whoever transformed it could have done a better job before placing it in the tray. Overall I'm happy as ####. This guy is awesome. Everything fits together nice and tight. This version blows the doors off of MP-10. A must have to go along with MP-36.

Did you have any significant issues?

Thanks for pointing this out. It does seem like this area may get stressed out over time.
