IDW’s Transformers Vs. The Terminator: Issue #1 4-Page Preview Including Milne Line Art - Transformers News - TFW2005 Alex Milne on Twitter Alex Milne on Twitter
I'm really excited for this. I really hope we get figures from some of these designs. The Seekers look fantastic. Plus we could always use good Terminator content.
"I was a champion of the pits of Kaon not only due to my savage might - but also my cunning." - Megatron. While I would have preferred a more drawn out fight sequence I think the end of the DJD fits to some degree. They were prepared to kill the very individual responsible for the Decepticon movement and their fanaticism blinded them to the truth of who they faced. Megatron survived the pits and the war not because of pure savagery but because he was smarter than to rely on pure strength and ruthless aggression. The DJD were just that, pure strength and aggression, and thus they never had any tactical planning. They relied on nucleon to boost their bodies so any sense of strategy was excusable as they could take it. As for the death itself it's rather poetic. They spent millennia hunting down, torturing, and killing those that feared them. They were the hunting party but in the end Megatron became the hunter and although he didn't torture them he did kill them in an equally brutal fashion as the group had done to others in past. They were on the receiving end of what they inflicted on others and, rather fitting, they became terrified as to what they faced. Not saying it was the way I would have ended them but as said it's fitting to an extent.
This Terminator crossover looks like it's gonna follow in the footsteps of the Ghostbuster one, I definitely look forward to checking this out. It'd be great to get some good (or at least better) Terminator content after Dark Fate. Milne's art as always is glorious, also did I just see Starscream and his boys as hunter killers? Gonna need a figure of that idea at some point in the future.
My Thoughts: JAZZ! NOOOO! NOT COSMOS! Yay, Bumblebee\'s dead! Please don\'t have killed Tracks or Wheeljack... That is the greatest thing to happen to Seekers in years. Also, I like how it\'s not just dead autobots in the splash page. Look across from Cosmos, there\'s a normal design seeker. He\'s got null rays, wings, shoulder intakes, and-if you look real close-a decepticon symbol
and thus a majority of the thread started talking about previous/currently ongoing comic series (cant wait to read this crossover though, and Milne's art looking top notch like always)
Look forward to this series find out terminators beat transformers like how seekers look more realistic in last page not blocky boring LEGO designs yeah finally bumblebee die again in another crossover has not happen in years since first Gijoe transformers crossover
you know, a story set in a dystopian near-future where all of our heroes are dead ain\'t exactly what I\'m in the mood for rn.
I'm not very familiar with Terminator lore, so I do have to bring the question back up; what abilities do Terminators have that would allow for them to stand on an equal footing with the average Transformer? I know they have their own disguise and metal shaping abilities, but from what I've seen, their main weakness comes from very high temperatures, which the average laser rifle probably doesn't have much of an issue with achieving. Not to mention the prospect of Combiners potentially just grinding them into a pile of scrap.
Maybe megatron worked with skynet. He gets world domination, defeat of autobots and a massive army. one of the issues for cybertron was the drop in population. And frankly, both skynet and decepticons hate humans. It's mostly a win win.
basically skynet, the supercomputer that started the whole thing, is a constantly evolving and adapting AI. the whole point of terminators is to become more efficient at what they do. they face a threat and adapt to destroy it. the arnold terminator is an infiltration unit designed to be as human as possible in order to slip inside human resistance bases to kill everyone from within. the first ones had no skin. eventually they had rubber skin that looked fine from a distance but up close wasn't right. the t 800 arnold model had artificial skin that looked real so they could get in. then there was the t1000 liquid metal models and so on and so forth. the whole thing is adapt and destroy. they clearly look to be sided with the decepticons judging from the seekers transforming into hunter killers so it's completely in the realm of possibility they could be able to kill transformers....and clearly they have.
The synopsis for issue 1 implies that they couldn't, and the Decepticons rule the future. Skynet sent an infiltrator back to when the Decepticons first appeared in a desperate bid to save itself from Megatron. Though it does seem weird that the Seekers would be some of Skynet's aircrafts in that scenario, or that there'd be a tank rolling around that clearly isn't Cybertronian since it didn't notice a human swinging around on it.
