Minor/Repaint: G1 style Studio Series Soundwave

    It's been a while since I posted my last custom, so I am pleased to announce my latest creation

    Custom - Transformers Studio Series Soundwave

    First of all - a short montage of my figure and somWIP photos.




    Car Mode

    I always liked DOTM Soundwave alt mode, however I don't think that silver colour fits it. That's why the colours I chose reflect the the G1 scheme, so blues and golden accents all the way! I think it works much better for this mold.​

    Robot Mode

    My idea for this custom was getting as close as possible to G1 feel of Soundwave but on the other hand give it a lot of details to better show all the intricacies of the mold. As you can see with all the added details, the figure looks completely different. I also added some rust and battle damage to give my Soundwave more natural look. Last step was removing the roof. I modified it, so now it attaches to the figure "c-clip" style.

    Gorgeous! I just finished my own G1 colored SS-51 Soundwave, and you've inspired me to take some pics of it to share later, but mine is nowhere near as good and clean as yours. *applause*

    I'd already added some blue to mine (I liked it on the HA figure) but this is so good it might push me to going all out! Great job!

    I have never been a fan of that figure...until now! Wow, that is awesome, and Soundwave is my favorite Decepticon.

    Some colour really helps him pop. The only thing I'd change would be to make the faux car panels on the thighs blue- I know what you're going for and exactly why you left then silver though.

    if only they had colored all the characters how they usually are we would probably been able to tell who was who instead of everyone being the same silvery mess. That is what i hated the most about the bayverse bots. they all looked the same. Looks good and really makes the figure look so much better.
