Well continuing the trend, here is my upgraded Hightower, I'd say about 85% finished. Gave him new arms from the original DOTM Megatron that conveniently fit in his hollow body, and made his combiner joint hide in his belly. Lastly upgrading his boom to be longer and more accurate. The last things I need to do besides paint is to finalize his connector to the combiner hand, and add in his counterweight for crane mode that will hide some combiner bits. Another bit I am proud of is that he has both of his concept robot modes Anyway here are pictures of him so far, enjoy, comments and critiques always welcome!
Great work man! Can you make me one, too, for both my non-humanoid robot mode TF collection and my four-armed TFs collection?
Great work so far and can't wait to see it completed! I plan on doing something similar with mine, but seeing yours motivates me even more. Expanding the cab and crane boom was also a good call as it makes High-tower seem bigger. However, a 4-armed High-tower?!
Excellent job so far. A question: did you test to make sure he can still combine? And may we see arm/hand mode?
here is how I think his arm will look, obviously I haven’t done anything to the old rampage bedsides taking his legs off, but this is my goal. Im trying to take the back panel of rampage that Folds up and make it his thumb in combined mode, but until then I’m not finalizing Hightower’s connection, but it will most likely attach similar to how it used to, along with his new arms holding onto rampage... or I guess bucket head is what he will be. Yes I plan to add cables going all the way back to the counter-weight when it’s added I forgot to fold up his little arms in a few of those pictures, I intend to only use one set of arms for each mode, like the concept art
Man I have to tell you, Hightower is my second favorite (and I do mean a damn close second , cause it is really hard for me to choose between him and Scavenger/Demolishor) Movie Constructicon, and yours is a true piece of Art. I love what you are doing here. The more accurate Alt-mode is king, and I love the arm options! Damn Amazing work so far mate!
A small update on Buckethead, using rotf rampage’s plow and butt flap to make devastates fingers is actually going to work quite well, here is a mock up I did just to see if it looks right
Looks great, but Devy's fingers are buckets not a plow. In the picture you posted, they do look good but I would like to mention that you could remove the plow parts and find 3 buckets for Devy's fingers (possibly from construction toys). However, this is your project and you can do it anyway you want. By the way, cannot wait to see the full left arm mode completed and your SS customized Devastator soon! Keep it up, you are doing amazing work! (P.S. Bucket-Head would look like RotF Rampage but with a long bucket attachment, giving your custom bucket-head a more movie-like look. However, pictures of Skipjack's alt-mode is the same as bucket-head's alt-mode so, you can do what ever you want.)
I don’t ever remember Buckethead actually getting an alt mode concept, I know there is the yellow rampage concept as well as the concept art that looks more like the rotf toy, but not any for him actually. Also, I intend to make the plow more similar to a bucket, however I am prioritizing transformation and function since a plow would be movie accurate, but not really real life accurate. Since this is what we see in the movie, but this is just a cg bulldozer about to transform, and no real bulldozer that I have seen has the separations in its bucket. Anyways I have figured out more about how to connect them, combined mode and his fingers. I just need to give him a new waist so that his plow can be his feet, and properly move them to the front of his alt mode as fingers. I also am planning on using his old pistons as the grappling hook launchers we see him use to scale the pyramid. anyways enjoy, c&c always welcome.
