Roadbuster? I'll admit, I didn't know he had a different name in Superlink. But you're right, Roadbuster isn't any better. Hmm...Hot Rod/Rodimus is out (they already had a Rodimus in the Energon dub, and, ironically enough, he seemed grizzled and experienced), and they didn't have the trademark to Bumblebee at the time (and he was rather too bulky to be named Bumblebee anyhow). This is a good question! Cheetor wouldn't work (that name is hard to use if he doesn't turn into a cheetah). Maybe they could have called him Side Burn (after the kid-appeal character from RID 2001) or something. Based on alt mode alone (I just looked it up and he's a Mitsubishi Montero), there aren't a whole lot of characters, G1 or otherwise, that he reminds me of. He kind of looks like G1 Brawn (just based on shape), but Brawn seems like an older and tougher character as well. Maybe they could have called him Outback? (Granted, he's not Australian, and Outback is pretty tough, but Outback didn't have the opportunity to do all that much in G1, so it wouldn't have been as annoying a nameslap.)
So...I guess Side Burn (for the kid-appeal factor) or Outback? Maybe?
That, or they could have called him Wheelie. That way, two of the franchise's most annoying characters would be the same character.  

 

Wheelie was Armada High Wire. I think Gears would've fit the most given his color scheme and alt mode.

 

Plus nobody likes him, but for the complete opposite reason this time.

 

My bad. I don't know a whole lot about the A/E/C trilogy (it's been too long since I've seen it). I agree with Gears, though!

 

How about Carlos? He sounds the same.

 

Animated had Ironhide as a fresh, younger recruit turned Elite Guard and seemed to work well for the most part. It would have been interesting to see how S4 would have went as he was supposed to be part of the main team on Earth(while Bulkhead and Sari stayed on Cybertron). Would be interesting to see how it turned out since as making Optimus Prime more young and inexperienced made him a more interesting take on the character

 

That Ironhide was younger but he wasn't juvenile, which I think is an important distinction.

 

Yes. He seems more mature than Energon Ironhide. He also seemed more mature than Animated Bumblebee, even though they were probably the same age. I guess it's also possible that he just signed up for the army at an older age.

 

Keep the names as they are. Energon Ironhide is not G1 Ironhide.

Cheap 3d animation

Primes animation was great and cyberverse is ok. BW admittedly had ugly models but the animation i felts was lively and cartoon enough at times to be entertaining. BM wasnt rlly a TF show to me but was at the same time if that makes sense?

The CW, TR, Prime wars shorts, Cybertron and Energon, and potentially the new Netflix shows animation (based from the trailer) looks way too blocky and just feels like there is a lack of fluidity to me. It looks awkward!

 

The lame half-assed approach to WFC Micromasters: Combiner halves without their partners, splitting basebots from their stations, every goddamn little thing under the sun including base-ramps has to have a bot-mode, forcibly slamming them and the mainline together... *stares pointedly at Omega Supreme*

 

i HATE beast machines! I’m not completely sure but I heard it continues from g1 and beast wars and it absolutely RUINED IT!

The Maximls where so EXTREMELY UGLY in this show! They dont even look like transformers! They look like ugly cyborg aliens and too organic. They don’t even LOOK like the characters they were based on. Optimus primal deosnt even look like himself From beast wars! He just looks like the hulk mixed with an alien gorilla wtf! Ratrap looks like a rotten zombie with wheels and a football helmet! And blackairacheia looks SOOO CREEPY!!!! Like seriously they just look like creepy and ugly aliens and not robots at all! And dont get me started on nightscream HE IS THE WORST!Why should they be called transformers! They even just shapeshift in the show! ITS SO BAD! Only Cheetor is the good maximal and I HATE how they turned cybertron like earth! Now it’s all boring,ugly and generic with forest everywhere. What’s the point calling it cybertron? And what makes it even more bad is that ALL THE ROBOTS ON THE PLANET ARE DEAD! I wished megatron and the vehicons won because they are way more cooler and wants to keep cybertron they same. And we would of had a show were the villains actually won! Such a missed fucking opportunity! Beast machines not cannon in my opinion and the maximals succefully captured megatron at the end of beast wars!

 

The Beast Machines definitely aren't "cannon," but they definitely are canon!

I WATCHED the entire show but I did hear that it was a continuation of g1 like beastwars. I looked it up not to long and it’s true.

I think it should be hated because it ruined beastwars and g1 for a lot of people.

I KNOW it was a sequel to beast wars. I just heard that BOTH shows where a continuation of g1 but I wasn’t sure when I first found out about these shows.
