I'd have to dig it out, but I'm fairly certain the shaft was a single piece and you had to work it into his weird hand. Making it work with a closed fist is probably more trouble than it's worth.

I had the red-bladed version years ago, and the staff cannot be disassembled to be handled by closed fists. You can only wedge it in open fists.

Eh. Wondering if it's only a single piece or it offers more. Will wait and see.

That sucks. Is there a way to make product suggestions to Matrix Workshop?

Man, thank you. These Matrix Workshop guys are awesome! Ok. My suggestion still stands: A Battle Mace for Siege or Earthrise Megatron. It can be designed similarly to Siege Optimus' Axe/Shield without the transformation gimmick. It could take some design cues from the Battle Mace Megatron used in the WFC videogame. Alternatively, it could be an original Matrix Workshop design like the Energy Axe for Siege Optimus.

I have a feeling a lot of people will jump on this. Take this under consideration, Matrix Workshop! :D

If we're throwing in suggestions, all I'd like to see is a chest plate for Orthia's back so using the backwards torso configuration looks more natural.

I checked out Shapeways before and, to be honest, I can't fathom paying so much for this set. I'm stationed in China so the charge for it in its entirety plus shipping isn't worth it.

Mini-Pretender weapons seemed like something the mass-manufacturers could have jumped on if they'd wanted too.

Yeah, I did that on Shapeways right away.

Your pics just remind me of why I hate Shapeways products. You can take a great design and turn it into a grainy mess. I wish we had a similar service but they made things in Renderform quality materials. I’d pay extra for that.

Yeah, I do dream of the day Shapeways offers resin again.

I used the fine detail translucent material and a friend dyed it green for this Amazon Acroyear lance. It was much better than normal Shapeways material. No grainy texture, and the dye was better looking than paint.

How fragile is the translucent material?

Thin bits can be fragile, but I try to avoid those.

@matrixworkshop If there's any requests/ideas being taking would it possible for a replacement head for Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime's core robot that looks like the original Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Force Convoy's unmasked head before he puts on the trailer pack on him?

The Sparkdrinker (the giant battle axe-saw) that Cybertron Metroplex gave to Cybertron Optimus Prime:
