It has amazing art but the story falls apart the minute you try to think hard about it. Also it is some alternate future so the only thing it really added to regular DC was stuff like Magog being ported back to the ongoing comics, aka negligible. I'd have enjoyed it more if it wasvjust an artbook, the artist loves to draw giant splash pages full of heroes anyway.
Apparently there's already early reviews trashing the film, but then I saw the story was from We Got This Covered so pay no mind.
I think Kingdom Come is a great story, but its best read as a stand alone story rather than having any connection to the main DCU. Though I won't lie, I'd like to see Nightstar become a character.
YES! Nightstar for the win! Seriously though I agree. Kingdom Come is best considered a standalone story and not as part of the DCU. I'll admit I'm not sure what the intention was when it was originally written though. Sometimes these companies like to come out and claim that "this is the future" of their comics and then they just say it isn't whenever things change in the mainstream titles.
I don't really remember Nightstar... who was he?) Btw, here, this site still has the Cheetah photo. 'Wonder Woman 1984': Kristen Wiig's first look as Cheetah is a lot like her comic book counterpart Can't say I am a fan... Sure accurate to the comics, but looks more like she has facepaint on.
She, Nightstar is M'ari Grayson. The daughter of Dick Grayson and Koriand'r of Tameran. She was created for the miniseries Kingdom Come, and has had sporadic appearances since.
WONDER WOMAN 1984 Image Shows Diana Prince In Golden Eagle Armor; Leaked Funko Reveals Cheetah A more detailed look at the armor. Also, Cheetah still rocking that Mystique look.
Looks better than part one and hope they use the Justice League series version of Cheetah! rarrrr. I mean like have Steve Johnson do some amazing make up work to make her look like Cheetah on the Justice League animated series.
Let me help please... Most of the looks at the armor in the comic are in long shots or closeups, these were the best I could find. But there have been other versions of the armor in the comics: The suit's design in the film is comparatively less glittery and star-spangled and more functional and form-fitting. I think that will help to distinguish it from the common tech-based armor going around in comic-book films. I also think it has a nifty Art Deco style. I hope it does well in action.
What a half formed character who has little back story beyond a few lines of exposition? Like all the JL characters not from one of the solo shows? Yeah sounds great.
Eh, I've been trying, I really have because everyone seems so jacked about it, but I just can't agree. Every time they release a new image of that armor/outfit, I cannot get over how utterly stupid it looks. I don't know if it's all the gaudy gold... I don't know if it's the cheesy bird theme of it... I don't know if it's because her head now looks 3x too big for her body and has no neck... or if it's all of the above, but I think it looks remarkably silly as hell. Needless to say, I hope it looks INFINITELY better in motion on screen than the static pictures they keep tossing out.
