They should, Starscream's death scene is one of the best moments in cartoon movie history.
Wonder how they would pull it off?

All grey with some cracks painted all over maybe.

An open mouth face too and a cape is a must.

Wouldn't be adverse to him featuring a blast effect or going from black/grey and further down is coloured.

Went ahead and cut that bar out. Looks way less blocky!
Also think It made his Head look too small before. Just gotta clean him up and paint over the cuts

I couldn't really care less about that collar piece. I got used to it with the Classics mold, and beyond structural integrity, part of the reason it's there is because Starscream's supposed to have a bit of grey under his chin, from the fuselage, behind the cockpit. The revised transformation scheme results in the head sitting directly atop the cockpit glass instead, so that collar piece creates that separation.

I just checked and my copy has also started developing that crack on the skirt piece after only 2 transformations... it is small but it is there. I am 100% sure this is due to the red paint hasbro coated the 2 attachment pegs with on this piece causing tighter than intended tolerances stressing the middle of the part... disappointing...

I have been noticing these breakage issues being reported. I just received mine from hasbro pulse and there looks to be no paint on those hip skirt pegs. Is it too early for us to expect a running change?

Wow that would be pretty quick if it is indeed a running change. I had picked up 2 ER screamers as I was considering doing a custom seeker with one of them. The other one is still in the package unopened and I can already see a crack on the skirt piece on that one as well. So chances are many of these are cracked even before they are opened just from initial assembly at the factory. Hopefully Hasbro will address this on future versions (based on what you said maybe they already did??)

There's a line of grey paint that serves that purpose fine on the edge of the glass for my liking. To each his own eh!

Hey thanks again for being the first to brave taking the knife to Starscream. It has really been a mod to make him so much more enjoyable.

    Ramblings:
Alright, I've had this guy for a while now and I wanted to put my thoughts on the figure out there. Earthrise Starscream was easily my most anticipated figure of the year, but now that I have him in hand I would say he's decent but underwhelming. This might be because of how excited I was for the figure initially, but is more likely because of how he pales in comparison to the Siege Seeker mold in terms of articulation and definition of sculpt. Now that the new-toy sheen has worn off, I can say without a doubt that Siege Starcream will be staying on my shelf. With that said, it's not a bad figure; he has a great alt mode and a serviceable robot mode. I can't bring myself to be passionate about this figure either way, he's just...decent. I think that this mold was intended for the Coneheads, and I'm pretty sure that's why this Starscream just feels a bit...off. I think the Coneheads will be excellent because it's a good base mold that's just begging for a more interesting deco and some fun Conehead wing-bits.
The Good: Great alt mode, fun transformation.
Nitpicks: Lack of definition of the face sculpt, the head is also a bit small.
    The Bad: Lack of articulation.
Mode Ranking: 1. Jet 2. Bot
    Transformation Difficulty: 4/10, not hard.
Grade: I grade my figure out of 100, and take points off for things I don't like. So, -15 for lack of articulation, -5 for poor definition of the face sculpt, -5 for the small head. 75/100

Totally agree about the head..I feel they had to make it smaller for the f-15 to be in scale as a bigger head wouldn't fit in the nose cone?

Well, I for one love this figure. Granted, I don't have the Siege version so I can't compare, but that figure was never on my radar due to some crappy aesthetic decisions that were off-putting. Maybe he does have better articulation, but being visually unappealing is a big turn-off.

This guy, though, aside from lacking a bit of articulation is just pure Starscream. Looks fantastic. And oddly enough, the lacking articulation doesn't bother me a whole heck of a lot. I can pose him well enough. I've never really felt like he needs any more range of movement, but of course, I wouldn't complain if he had more.

Honestly, my biggest issue is that he does feel a bit small. Though I'll admit I have been kind of out of the collecting game, so maybe this is just a standard nowadays?

Either way, this figure scratches that Starscream itch for me. Absolutely love him. Just hoping we can get a Skywarp and Thundercracker down the line...

Unlike the Classics version, the head on this one fits into the nosecone, rather than being a part of it, so that does limit the size a bit.
