Progress for my King Ghidorah repaint; I love the sculpt and I feel like he looks so much better with shiny gold vs the original mustard yellow. Currently debating between Monsterarts 2019 Godzilla or the Neca ver 2 to display alongside him.
Get the SHMA he looks 10 times better then NECA i have the SHMA but not the NECA but if the video reviews are accurate SHMA is better
Never saw that figure before, not sure how easy it would be to come by since that review was from 14 years ago. It doesn't have it's size listed either, so not sure if it'd mix well.
the GD98 was pretty good figure for its time. Its bigger than the SHM MechaG so it wont scale with either SHM or NECA. I had a bunch from the GD series back in the day.
The Chogokin Showa Mechagodzillas are a fair bit taller than their MonsterArts successor or most other SHMA figures. It’s a decent mold. I don’t own it anymore though so not a ton I remember about the articulation. I still own my Chogokin Gigans, metallic chrome and Death Trigger versions. God I wish we got the SHMA in either colors, especially Death Trigger!
For what it’s worth I still have my chogokin MG75 on display. I bought him when I was a kid back in England and he’s one of the few figures I brought with me to the US. He survived the initial collection purge because at the time he was only selling for around $30 and he’s way too important to me to go for so cheap. He’s hefty, solid as a brick and comes with a bunch of optional display bits and a chunk of SPACE TITANIUM. Articulation breakdown: Swivel neck Hinge mouth Ball jointed shoulders Bicep swivel Hinge elbows Swivel wrists Swivel waist Universal ratchet thighs (biggest letdown, too much space between clicks) Knee swivel Knee ratchet Ball jointed feet 2 ball joints in the tail The SHMA is probably more posable because he’s got more modern tech and he will scale better with the rest of your collection. To define one as better really depends on what you’re looking for. If anyone is looking for size comparisons LMK and I can snap some.
While i was shooting a fight scene for Chronicles of the minibots i bent SHMA Godzilla's ab crunch a bit too far he's ok but i thought it'd take a few photos
The poster art version of Godzilla looks great, looks like it costs an arm and a leg though. Looking forward to what they bring for Godzilla versus Kong. They never did Mutos from the 2014 film in this line did they?
