I am not telling anyone to go buy gift cards now. I don't know what's going to happen in September, but as I said, just by using math alone, it's also possible to end up with a worse price than BBTS AFTER Amazon discounts. Amazing isn't it.
Yeah, I suppose that is possible if the exchange rate goes sideways. Though I've always known that my "great AJP price" is dependent upon the exchange rate, and it's a gamble I've come out ahead with so far - some times better than others. Worst case scenario, if the USD to JPY exchange in September results in a prohibitively expensive final price, I'll just switch out my credit card with AJP to one that doesn't have sufficient funds and force a cancellation. Though if the dollar is that weak I think toys would be a much lower priority for me.
AJP may well be ahead of all of us and simply cancel all the overseas orders. No way they want to handle that crap if the exchange rate is that volatile. These guys haven't stayed in business for so long by being dumb. I don't care if I don't have this. I'll probably use my balance on the new Metal Build.
They'd still be getting the same amount in JPY from overseas orders that they'd get from any domestic customers, I don't see why they'd cancel anything.
Well that sucks. I'm glad my price is locked in in GBP. I reckon if you paid up front at AE you're also laughing. Hopefully things improved for September. This is exactly why comparing MP prices in USD(or anything but yen) is silly behaviour.
Amazon Japan price went down again, and the CND crept up as well, so I’m back to $274 total. Hopefully the CND rises/yen drops once September comes around. Tigatron’s almost 40% off now, that’s insane.

If the dollar is plummeting then should I buy 2 Tigatrons at RK right now? I have Korean Won but PayPal will charge me USD with RK. Am I right in assuming this will work out to my advantage?

You're 'laughing' because you paid when the exchange rate was more favourable, if you paid now you'd be paying more. So yes it's a 'good' thing.
Fans Toys makes a pretty good substitute for Galvatron... And I for one think that ANY BW character short of Scorponok or Quickstrike is more deserving of #50. Anyway, Galvatron was a flat 2d villain, in the best G1 episodes. Even Transmutate had more personality than he. *runs away*
White tigers are revered in Asia. It's why in Super Sentai when the white ranger appeared and the white tiger zord appeared, they're the most powerful and that translated over into Power Rangers. Most people don't know how beloved white tigers are over there. That might explain your question.
I'm at $273 right now. Once everything is said and done, including the money back at the end that I often get which customs is done, I'm hoping to get under $250 CAD. I'm thinking it is likely doable. If people start cancelling their preorders due to a bad world economy, they may even try to lower their prices to get a few more orders in. Supply and demand and all that.
The history of the line would suggest not. MP-1 Convoy MP-5 Megatron MP-10 Convoy MP-15... erm Rumble and Jaguar? MP-20 Wheljack? MP-25 Tracks...seriously? MP-30 Ratchet? MP-35 Grapple? Who? MP-40 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus...well I guess it's a top tier character but a repaint. MP-45 Bumblebee... I guess we can give them that but it's a V2. MP-50 Tigatron If they gave a crap about numbers surely they would have engineered MP-32 Primal, MP-36 Megatron, MP-43 Megatron and MP-44 Convoy to be 'landmark' numbers. I'm not sure what people are so surprised/disappointed about. I honestly think the next number make a big fuss about is if at all is 100. Like they did with 1 and 10.
I personally feel them going above and beyond with making Tigatron a 100% completely new mold is grounds for celebration of the line, and is worthy of the 50 milestone. I don’t particularly care about other people’s notion that Tigatron isn’t a deserving character. There’s a lot more at play here than just a character. I’m sure the designers and PR planners are even more passionate about this line than the most fervent of us. Obviously. Being on the big FIVE OH. Bring on that Tigatron!!!!
