How do you feel about about the creature puppets in other Henson stuff and mocap like Avatar (James Cameron)?
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Knuckles Solo Movie Reportedly Being Considered At Paramount Pictures This is too soon IMO.
I really loved how the movie turned out better than I could've expected. Ben Schwartz's definitely my fav Sonic voice now. I could legit see him playing Tom's brother in law, with him being cool with Sonic much to the sisters in law's chagrin.
****yes! That would actually be a great cameo idea! Growing up in the 90s with the Sonic games, both the animated TV series, and the comics from Archie, I always have Jaleel White as the voice of Sonic in my head.
That is horrifying. What is that from? And in similarry horrifying news, Wood rocket, the studio specializing in adult porn "parodies" of new movies, released Sonic the Vadgehog. Check out Cinema Snob's review (it is censored) but be warned, that face will haunt your nightmares.
Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Sets Box Office Record The movie has reached the $300 million milestone and is steadily beating Detective Pikachu's domestic number.
Nice! I was surprised they didn’t mention the box office hauls of the Resident Evil movies. I’d heard they were either the most successful horror franchise of all time or the most successful videogame franchise of all time. Or both. I don’t know the numbers. But it’d still be cool if Sonic beat those. It sounds like a better movie than all those RE movies.
Saw the movie recently... Green Hills a town on Earth... and Sonic seems to be from another planet on an island that looks suspiciously like the Green Hills zone from the video game... I think they probably added that at the last minute along with the Sonic design change. Also at the end of the movie I kept expecting Sonic to turn gold and have his spikes pointed upward cause that seemed like a super Sonic moment but he never changes to full Super Sonic... Maybe they're saving it for the sequel? I also get the feeling that the end scene with Robotnic was probably added at the last minute as well... and is it just me or is the "Mushroom" planet suppose to be a dig at Sonic's competitor who's known for saving the mushroom kingdom. They never directly reference a kingdom of any kind and it's suppose to be uninhabited but of course they CAN'T reference it directly because of being owned by different companies... but I really got the feeling every time they mentioned the Mushroom planet that it was suppose to be a metaphor for Super Mario Brothers. ANYWAY... I liked the movie... I'll be picking it up whenever it comes out on DVD and Blu Ray. I still kinda hope that I can see the alternate version with the original design because they did that thing where the trailer gives away way too much of the film so it seems like they were already pretty far with the original design before changing it.
In several continuities Sonic comes from planet Mobius and that's what they went with here. As for if it's a later addition or not, some say it's wasn't based on Longclaw's "realistic" design. They can't do it without the Chaos Emeralds. Going to say "no" knowing it was first shown in the 1st trailer. It's a reference to Mushroom Hill Zone from the games.
I'm not saying ALL of it was added. Just that area in the opening that looks like the Green Hills zone from the game... It doesn't really match the rest of the island that's shown during that scene. It's only there right at the start of the movie. It transitions from literally the video game graphics to a more realistic version of it that's on screen for like maybe 2 minutes before going into the actual story. Just that first couple minutes is what I think was added last minute. I don't remember that scene being in the first trailer. I remember seeing in the trailer after they changed Sonic's design. His mustache is suddenly much larger like the video game, he's bald, his hair changes color, and his suit is a different color. Jim Carrey mentioned that Robotnic goes though some sort of change during the movie but he just suddenly changes drastically in the last scene of the movie, it's not gradually through the entire film which is what made me think the scene was added last minute. It was too late to reshoot the entire movie with that Robotnic so they just shot an extra scene and shoved it in at the end. That's just what it felt like to me cause the drastic sudden change in appearance really doesn't make sense in universe. Wasn't aware there was a Mushroom zone in the actual Sonic games.
Didn't robotnik say in his little log in that scene that he was on that mushroom planet for something like 89 days at that point? Long enough for his tasche to grow out. Different sun and food could affect his hair colour and we saw he shaves himself bald.
He... doesn't, though? It looked to me like it was just a tattered version of the flight suit he wore during the climax of the movie.
