That’s not a coincidence - the repacked Blackwing I posted was also from the Burbank, CA Walmart.

 

Blackwing was one of the figures found at Ross a few months ago. I bought one when I was hunting for an extra Wreck-Gar. Clearly someone else found Blackwing at Ross and is perpetrating these dirty swaps.

 

He was on Amazon for $6 a few months ago

 

Am new to this, I must admit, some of these are hilarious and also sad.

What is the driver? Memes, trolling staff/collectors, seeing if they can get away with it?

 

I would think it’s more about getting a figure for a lesser value. That’s why it’s dumbfounding when we see a repackaged figure more rare than the stolen item (like in the case of the TR Quickswith replacing a TR SixShot). Of course, some of these may be staged. I seem to remember an image with a G1 as the sacrificial figure.

I still expect some of it is done for laughs and maybe social media "likes", which of course breeds some staged ones (e.g. it's possible to do the replacement but not go through the whole returns process, just take a photo in store). Not to say that applies to anyone here!!!

Is Big Evil Walmart literally selling used loose incomplete figures now? I expect that from a hobby shop, not a retail chain. Walmart sucks, don't shop there.

 

Look I was having a nice day, actually had a decent night sleep in a long time, dropped the wife off at work and went to Walmart to get coffee and creamer so the rest of the house could have a cup when they got up but then I saw that while checking to see if they had any Earthrise figures, they didn't btw. The poor associate that was stocking the toy department saw me just shrugged when I showed him that when he asked "if I was finding everything ok". Seriously if it wasn't for the fact that this Walmart was right around the corner from me then I would never go back there.

 

I remember seeing a headless,dirty and beat up looking energon hotshot squished inside a studio series bumblebee box a few months ago. So far it’s the only toy swap I have ever witnessed.

Edit: FYI I own both and I agree Siege is the better figure. ER is pretty cool too though.
