Buy two Leaders, you're bound to get one of each at some point. Return the one you don't want. *shrugs*

Thinner gauges hide better. Get light pound test for ultra thin almost completely invisible. The toys are pretty light so they'll hold no problem. I even have a few of Jetfire flying around in my photocomic and he's a big boy

Hoist is adjusting to life outside of the box.

Here you go. Like I said, very basic. And it only requires a tiny screw hole on the underside of the trailer, so easily reversible.

the head just has 3 pegs that are glued in, the bottom 2 were fine and it still held together perfectly :)  ive glued it together anyway, just to be on the safe side.

Got him today. I'm overwhelmed. Totally in love. Been waiting 12 years for this!! Paid off. Only G1 Starscream in my collection. Only one I'll ever need. Finally a mold without compromises

He does have 5 mm holes in the back on top. So there might be an upgrade kit down on the way. Or you just custom build them yourself. Shouldn't be that hard

    Naaaaice

    Your moral is cruel

I only ever had typically one use of a mold for a figure back in the G1 days. One of my favorite unique molds was Inferno. He was one of my absolute favorite toys ever growing up. The bright red fire engine with loads of accessories and a really fun transformation, how could I not love it? That’s why I’m glad I have the commemorative reissue Inferno. Now flash forward to today, when and where I now own a Grapple figure.

Which definitely gives me the ‘feels.’ It just makes me wonder what I was missing out on this whole time, only ever having experienced one version of the G1 mold.

Earthrise Grapple is a great figure. And honestly I’m glad they started with this character because it has given me something to look forward to (by God, Hasbro, we better get Inferno out of this). Even though I never owned a Grapple, this still feels so familiar.

The broad and blocky chest, huge platform feet, the extendable crane on his back, the silver shoulder pouldrons, the fun accessories........just change the crane on his back to a ladder and make him red and you got Inferno. But I’m glad it’s Grapple because I also like construction vehicles and it’s cool to have a good architect on the team. Grapple is great in his own right. I’m loving the classic throwbacks and the look with the really cool weapon accessory and his hose hand. And I’m glad that he comes with options, even if I won’t use it that much, at least for Grapple.

The giant claw is actually pretty cool. I like that it has the clip in the middle to interact with the A.I.R. system. But I prefer the hose hand and the claw doesn’t really store very cleanly in bot mode.

It works and looks better for his alt mode. Though it’s still kinda clunky and in the way when he’s not actually using it.

I’ll swap it out between him and Ironworks, but it’s mainly gonna stay with Ironworks (who I think has more uses for it, I’ll explain later). Besides Grapple still has a hook on his crane. Granted it’s not as functional as the claw hand, but at least for aesthetic purposes it looks good. You could always also attach the hose to the end.

A preview for Inferno. Now to address the QC elephant in the room. The pegs that attach the head assembly to his feet in alt mode are an issue on my copy too. I filed the pegs down some and also scraped around the inside of the peg holes to widen them. I did both because I didn’t want to take any chances on the pegs breaking. You may be ok with doing one or the other on your copies. Just a heads up if you didn’t already know.

I love Grapple. So far Earthrise seems like a real love letter to G1 and I couldn’t be happier. I honestly do hope that one day, we’ll eventually start getting all brand-new characters and toy designs for Transformers, but I’m loving all the G1 nostalgia of WFC so far. It’s allowing me to experience to a fuller extent all of G1 than G1. I know many collectors wish Hasbro would move on to other things and I truly wish someday they do. But right now, I’m enjoying the journey part of the line. I’m in no rush to get to the destination.
