Well, the things we are saying aren't contradicting one another, so overall things are far less tedious.
Tigatron looks fantastic. I really like his beast mode too. Accessories - the hacking cable is neat, but the Megatron head? Really? That's not even an object that physically exists in their world. What a weird inclusion. If it had a unique face to put on MP Megatron that could be neat but as is… don’t like it much.
I was wondering why Megatron always walked around headless... Seriously though, I really enjoy that accessory. It may not have "physically existed", but it was still a neat moment in the show, and the best way to represent it.
I purchase from Amazon (Canada and Japan) all the time (like between them and Costco I barely shop anywhere else). I have NEVER (I mean never) had a bad customer service experience *shrugs* they have gotten where they are by being the cheapest and most reliable eCommerce site period. You may not like them for personal reasons but customer service is not one of those reasons.
Very much under the influence of that New Toy Buzz (MP48 arrived today and I like Him a lot more than I expected to) I've said fuck it and splurged £160 on this Guy. Fire and forget........I'll look at my bank statement next week. Or the week after. Or whenever. Kind of selfishly hoping there isn't another BW reveal until the Summer. These things have gotten too expensive too quickly. Hopefully His build quality will be MP48-worthy.
Congrats on your flawless experience with Amazon outside of the UK but please do not presume to tell me why I prefer not to shop with them. I have had a number of very poor customer service experiences with Amazon UK, it IS one on my reasons for not liking them.
I just figured I would point out that your context on their customer service is very much not what I have experienced. You can dislike them but you are missing out on the best place to preorder from period (best price, best customer service, fastest shipping). What I don't understand is why one of you from UK doesn't just try ordering from them once (like what is there to lose? Maybe an extra $40 on one purchase)? Every preorder discussion at one point involves all of you asking if anyone from UK has any experience with them (and then ignoring anyone outside UK that anecdotal experience using them because UK has what it sounds like TERRIBLE importing laws).
And you were doing fine until you told me what to think. I've considered being a UK guinea pig for using AJ but each time I've thought...yeah but it's Amazon.. and they are c****. I would be interested to see a first hand account of a UK'er using them, just to satisfy my curiosity. However I have plenty of other similarly 'cheap' and reliable options that I feel less ethically compromised by using so I'm good.
I\'ve noticed that most (if not all) of the tiger pics have the hind legs fairly extended. I was hoping you could bring them forward to sort of hide the thinness of the entire back of the tiger, but given that all the pictures have them fairly extended, I am wondering if we have a \"dinobot\'s thighs\" scenario where there isn\'t any actual movement forward in the tiger thighs? It looks like you can definitely move them back a little bit, but hopefully you can bring them forward too...
Yes. We don’t need to know how easy it is for an American to use AJ for this exact reason. Are there even any Europeans with experience? And what is there to lose? While the rest of the group is having a circle jerk about all the savings they made we’ll be talking about how hard we got fucked by customs. The whole point of using them is to save money so it’s not really worth being the test subject when evidence suggests we’re safer shopping anywhere else.
And it does. Even IF I was able to actually get Amazon.Jp to take my order - they won't, I've just tried on a Bandai Robot Damashi and it helpfully tells me it won't ship it to the UK - they add on UK import fees to the purchase price. Making any Mp Preorder pretty much the same as buying it from somewhere like AnimeExport. So there is no actual saving differential. And on an item like MP47 where as likely as not you'll have to return the item to them anyway, it's ridiculously expensive to do so. Losing ALL potential savings, and adding a potential massive customer services headache (sending back by insured Mail will cost more than the MP even if they do have to refund something at some point) is enough to make any same person think pretty hard about that lottery. And at present it is a lottery. So in the end, many of 'us' take the kicking and buy domestically for some sort of reassurance - or as with MP44 just don't bother. Is that clear enough?
The whole point of Amazon Japan is you pay customs ahead of time (I am from Canada where we still pay, just I guess not as much as you guys in UK). Even just preordering would give you the price you are expected to pay (it includes customs / shipping upfront for the very reason that you are not surprised by extra charges).
