I think the team at Botcon realized it when they were asking for it based on what my friend there told me the reaction was at the question. Than again, who knows? Considering that we were clamoring for the Reissue to be in the original colors when it was being released and now we want an anime accurate Classics version this fandom can be hard to read sometimes...

Blitzwing looks too close to his G1 self, so releasing a Classics version of similar design would be confusing to kids.

Prowl looks vaguely like his G1 self, so the Classics version and Animated versions are very different.

    Thanks!

So it has more to do with Alt Modes than names or characters.

I guess that would be more confusing to me if I was a kid...but whatever gets us more toys is fine by me.

All of this news on classics and animated stuff points to a great year ahead of us. New cartoon, toys and classics, universe, then a new movie and toys...great for the happiness, bad for the wallet!

I'm thinking WWI Prowl and Grimmy go the way of Classics/Titanium Cosmos...bastards. I would love to kick the butt hole who made this decision in the nuts repeatedly. Effing bean counters.

Sunstreaker, sideswipe, Octane, Prowl, and Warpath (! I hope)

That'd be a great first wave right there! Needs another 'con though! :)

I really want classics of all the 1st season bots. We need Hound, Trailbreaker, and most importantly... Ironhide and Ratchet!
They're so overdue for some show accurate toys!

I'd prefer they get the Masterpiece treatment. Once you make one, all you have to do is a new head sculpt and paint job for the other. Kind of like they did for MP's Starscream and Skywarp (and hopefully eventually Thundercracker)

Meh, I prefer the space cannon mode.

The only thing that really upset me about this whole ordeal was the loss of the G1 Shockwave in the 6" Titanium line. The prototype looked so awesome, I want the guy but I don't want to pay $100+ for him. Hell, I'm even considering of buying that KO with a funky head and buy a junker Shocky to see if I could stick the junker's head onto the KO...

Also the "realistic alt modes" which they decided to adopt into Classics 2.0, with me being a sucker for the 3rd season cast and all...

Dude, we live in the same city (basically). The problem wasn't that they sold out, it is that it didn't sell well.

Target would get 2 boxes of a new wave and sell out 2 of the 3 in the case in a day, then they'd order another set of cases, not get them for two months, and then have the odd man out sit on the shelves for another two months.

Wal*Marts wouldn't get Titaniums in stock by a box, they'd get a pallet at one time, then be pissed that they didn't all sell out (from two toy dept managerial people).

Meijer's toy distro is just totally random.

It's the problem that EVERY Transformers Collectors line hits. The new stuff sells like hotcakes, the old stuff just sits. Then when the restock happens, the old stuff accumulates until all that's left is shelf/peg warmers that no-one wants to buy, and no-one wants to order another case of something that's not going to sell. So once everything FINALLY sells it is hard to justify buying more since other items sell faster, for a higher profit.

Yay! Eagerly awaits classics 2.0 Blue/Silverstreak and Smokesceen repaint/remolds!

Sucks about the titaniums but all mine do is just stand there. Not too many can be posed like my other Transformers.

Argh, I was hoping for WWI Grimlock and Prowl. Wish they skipped the crappy Joe Megatron tank and Soundwave instead. Will Hasbro ever release WWI lines again? I really hope IDW completes the War Within comic line since they're releasing trades from the DW run.

War Within is as dead as Dreamwave. We were lucky to see as many toys as we did.
