you may be right, her neck is a bit long, but even after covering her head the nipple line seems a bit too low compared to show and young women. I’m a nurse and I see naked people all the time so things that are off with body stick out to me. Something about it just looks off. Anyway, I’m looking forward to reviews.

 

great post! This MP Arcee is pretty good, but no one completely nails her. I am not a fan of parts forming, but I would make an exception for Arcee. Just pull away most of car top and have cleaner bot mode.

 

Agreed. It’s probably a combination of both. Chest too low, and the neck is too long. I work in Radiology, and I’m very acutely aware of anatomy, and the chest is not proportioned correctly. Neither is the neck.

 

Arcee's body is beautiful except that chest.. it's still a shit the bed moment for me.
The hips and waist are very feminine and evocative of how she should be in my mind... a true fembot & not just a pink repaint.

I'm going to sit this one out, probably wait for the reissue and a 3P to make some kind of clip-on chest and replacement face.
It's a shame that if this tanks they are probably going to point the finger at it being a female character and not a half baked aesthetic fuck up.

 

Yeah, I'm really glad we already got Blackarachnia! Even if TT decides to stop making fembots for a while if this tanks, our favorite femme fatale arachnid is already on our shelves.

Great comparison pic - and shows exactly how the collar and neck line are too high off the shoulders. if you were to remove the collar, she'd look like those ladies from that unique culture that elongates their necks using rings.


But yes, I also concede that the angle of the chest is a little off too. But if you compared it to a human woman, it's where it's supposed to be.

 

The problem with her having human like proportions is, SHE ISNT A HUMAN. The source material didn't have the "unsupported breasts" look. The chest looks WRONG.

 

The chest is fine. Here, I'll show you why it's the neck.

 

I just need to know Takara fixed the plastic used in MP47 for MP51. If it's not going to fall apart, I'll definitely jump on it. I love Arcee and have had all the 3p offerings. I currently just have the Fanstoys version but her connections for the backpack have issues and I detest the giant gap in her ribs. MP51 looks more solidly built. She's far from being the worst Masterpiece figure. Besides the Beast Wars mp's that IMHO all look horrendous, MP-05, MP03/MP-11, and MP21 look far worse in design. Arcee's chest really won't be distracting in-hand. So far, all the "dealbreakers" that people have whined about in the past have been minimal when the toy shows up on people's shelves. Again, plastic quality should be the number one thing fans harass Hasbro & Takara about, not breast shape.

 

That goes without saying, because whether a person buys this thinking it's perfect or visually compromised, either way you're gonna be SUPER unhappy if the thing breaks for no reason.

 

Agreed. I’m on the fence for a Masterpiece release for the first time. I will probably not even Pre-Order this. I have to make sure Takara has fixed the plastic on this one, or I’m going to sadly have to pass.

Just noticed that while Tigatron is listed in the mag as MP-50, Arcee is simply listed as MP......makes me think we may yet see some tweaks like Hound got before finally being released. We may actually end up with a different bot for MP-51 if Arcee is delayed/tweaked.

 

Wouldn't count on it the response to MP "Earthy" has been pretty much positive. This is like Lio Convoys arms the people doing all the complaining aren't the people whose opinion matter the most.
