To be fair, if Hasbro, hypothetically came out with DOTM Ironhide, it would probably include the new guns and omit the originals. The DNA Kit is less than the price of a Voyager. So it's a trade off one way or the other.

Without the rest of Devastator's muscles, he's turning into a Couch Potato.

    Guys I have a question:

I got the new '07 Megatron and Bumblebee, should I open them or wait until Wednesday and see if Walmart has any Earthrise deluxes? I want Cliffjumper and Wheeljack, but the more I see if them, the less excited I am. And if Hoist is any indication, they will be rather light and... Well not really cheap-feeling, just sorta brittle.

I have the original SS Bumblebee and the ROTF Megatron, so I don't 'need' new versions, but I want to look at them objectively as figures.

No, I haven't seen any EarthRise at Walmart, just buttloads of old siege. I haven't opened them yet because I was waiting to see if they do, if so I was going to exchange. But didn't want to risk these two not being there next time (Walmarts here never keep SS in stock)

I actually love this figure! He’s decently posable, comes with all his accessories, and transformation is surprisingly complex yet not annoying! Plus I went snowboarding this weekend and brought him:

Dammit, why didn’t I think of that!

But yeah it tends to be the figures you never really expect that tend to be good, while the ones you think will be good end up... meh. I thought Soundwave would be my favorite of the new SS wave, but the Arcees have taken that crown!

I don’t normally like SD-style figures, especially those freaky Funko Pop!s, But this guy is surprisingly cute.

Funko pops are kinda all the same, but yeah this is an exceptionally well done cute figure. He is surprisingly posable and fun to transform and he has sooo much personality! They’re apparently doing the twins (in ice cream truck mode) and are going to attempt a TLK Optimus as well to go with this guy. I’m excited!

I still hope we get an SS Sideways. He didn’t do shit, but his design was cool

I wish I never got rid of this repaint. Same with the exclusive deluxe Ravage

I personally don't think that they're that expensive. Sometimes you may not get enough parts for the price, Ironhide being a perfect example of that.

But in all fairness to the kit, it not only gave him additional weapons, but also improved both the bot, and the alt mode.

With how short and thick the right arm of Devastator looks like it's going to be, I tried thinking of ways to make the left arm look less long and thin. I think swinging up the legs of Scrapmetal, swiveling them with the outer tread facing outwards, and bending them in at the knee joint inwards might really help make them look more proportional to each other. The left arm to me looks more eveningly shaped instead of going off in a sort of Z shape, looks shorter and more like it just has giant claws, along with adding more detail gribble than it has when just in the the solid tread mode. The black pegs on Scrapmetal's lower legs can even sort of attach to the pegholes for Hightower's yellow rounded back piece. Pegging the legs into Hightower would help strengthen the sort of loose single peg connection that's used to support all of Scarpmetal's weight.

The blue circled peghole that's on both sides fit the black leg pegs perfectly, but it's hard getting the legs that high without forcing it or removing the legs at the baljoint.

The green circle is where there's a slit on both sides, the slit is of some tube detailing, that would be perfect for the pegs to go into, but they won't go in without the slit being widened or the peg being thinned out.

Either way, you can still unpeg the legs and just have them sitting on there in this position if you don't want to modify. Going off picture of how different the length and thickness looks between both arms in all the Toyfair and promo shots, I feel like this could help balance the arms out.
