Unused (AFA) Original Devastator Giftset. One of my favorite pieces.

It’s a 70. I rarely see these come up tape sealed or unused, so jumped at the chance to own one.

I got a set of those about 15 years ago and was so happy to have MOSC triggerbots/cons, then I read somewhere that the chinese text in the upper right corner of the card was a dead giveaway that it was a KO. I can't find anything more about it, but perhaps someone here knows for certain.

If they are legit, I'll pull mine out of the box of KOs and junkers.

Very cool Brainstorm. I don't know if they told you when you bought it, but looks like it's a Chinese reissue (shortened copyright on the back). AFA mislabeled it.

Being that I no longer care about the movie stuff, haven't cared about them since Revenge of the Fallen, Studio Series has never interested me. It's just rekindling things I already have. Rekindling things I no longer have interest in buying more of. I didn't like the movie figures very much due to their transformations involving a lot of panels and getting them aligned exactly. Which has always felt more like a chore than fun, ever since Beast Wars. The more complicated the transformers get, the less interested I tend to become. I own a whole total of zero Masterpiece figures. They look to be fairly complicated figures, with lots of thin plastic panels. Just no interest in that.

Siege and whatever they're making now, are basically just the originals, with less features. G1 is what got me interested in Transformers, and it is G1 that keeps me here. But, I would be interested in Transformers again once they get away from nostalgia lines. Start making new things, new things for Optimus and Megatron to transform into. This counts for both robot mode and vehicle mode. G1 is my favorite line, but the Unicron Trilogy is a very close second. Main reason is it has the widest variety of alt modes since G1. With cars, planes, dinosaurs, animals, and ect. All with very little regard of how these figures looked in the G1 line. Megatron is a tank, spaceship/jet, 'triplechanging' car/jet that looks like the Batmobile, and even a dinosaur in the Unicron Trilogy. That is the kind of thing that would get me interested in getting back to Transformers. New, and creative ideas.

Until then, I'll stick to what's already out there. Mostly G1 and Unicron Trilogy. I just have no interest in the new lines, with the new lines just repeating what the previous line just did. The new Optimus doesn't even look all that different from the previous version. I really don't care about show accuracy, or having articulated versions of these characters. That isn't want drew me into Transformers. It was the transforming into the wide variety of alt modes that brought me into Transformers. It was the creativity of the designers that kept me there. With the designers coming up with new ways of making Optimus and Megatron look familiar, but new and fresh.

If all they are going to do is keep making the old figures, but more accurate, and better articulation, it's fine for those who do care about those things, but that's not why I'm here. I'd rather just own the original Fortress Maximus than a remake of it, as an example. I don't care if Metroplex is gigantic compared to the original. I like the original as it is. It looks great surrounded by Micromasters.

Until Transformers start designing/creating new ideas, I'm out. I'll just stick to the old ones until then.

Edit: Oh, I did also like Animated, and the Prime series toys, though I never got around to picking them up.

As am I! I wish I had some more vintage figures. There's just something special about them.

Bought Onslaught and Blast-Off loose today and my decades long quest to get all the Combaticons is complete. I’ll have to find their accessories soon, I want my G1 Bruticus! B6C5A53B-AC90-4D99-B8DA-58D132A793D5.jpeg C7F8DDB0-841A-4DB8-BAFF-C43971665475.jpeg

Unused (AFA) Trypticon. I think this definitely qualifies as rare.
