Ehh, from the looks of things, they're just KO'd, and Canonically, their colors turn grey when they die, and I think I speak for everyone that has read the old IDW Transformers Comics when I say that Drift\Deadlock's position and the thing in his head are a massive reference to those Flashback Issues of MTMTE

That’s a name I haven’t heard in along time. I blocked him years back because he wouldn’t stop harassing the local comic creators, especially Stone.

If you take a look in Stone's old "Nexus" comic, you'll find a lot of people agree with me about Optimax.
