Late this year or early next year. Not official, but typically that's the gap between reveal and release for the last MPs. I don't think we've gotten an exact date yet and I don't believe AJP has her up for pre-order yet unless I'm mistaken.

As someone who's solely interested in the "Western" side of G1, this is something I'd rather not see happen. Seasons 1 and 2 are already far more of a priority to me than the Movie and Season 3, but if they were to go in this direction with this part of the cast, then I'd be even less interested in the later characters. I'd possibly even skip them. I'm on the fence as is with Arcee.

If that ends up being the case, then that makes it an easier decision to pass on it.

I wouldn't be so sure. This is the first Western G1 show-appearing MP since MP-7 I might skip. Chances are I'll end up getting it, but seriously, it's been a very long time since I was this unsure about automatically preordering a MP of a character I should automatically want to pick up. The unpleasantness with Hound is definitely coloring my opinion, but I'm just not very into what I've seen of this figure so far. And it's less "hating" and more being disappointed.

Out of all the lines I collect, I could make a critical comment or two about every single one of them. I'm only interested in sticking with lines that do satisfy me far more often than not, but not every figure in a line turns out as I would've liked it. There's occasional dissatisfaction. They can't all be zingers.

I whole heartedly agree with the last statement, after all there is no such thing as perfect, imperfect as she is I’m just glad we’re even getting an official one to begin with

I never said they were perfect. I posted "excellent" figures. Sometimes they look horrid in images(i.e. not photogenic) but cool/awesome on hand. Had the same experience with some JP static figures. Once we have her in hand then we can truly rake the figure over the coals if she's a stinker/lemon.

MP Hound has indeed left a bad taste in the mouth (mine btw is still undamaged) but waaaaaaaaaaay back even in the beginning of MP-01, there were some "material failures" already.

Nothing strange or “if” about it. Since Japan is the primary market for the MP line, she’s designed as their Arcee.

Maybe they’ll make an MP-51+ as a more cartoon accurate version, similar to what they did with Shockwave.

Excellent work as always @ambitron! My only real "problems" are also the neck and face. The neck might collapse more though, like with Hound, but the face is what it is. I hope they'll make it a bit rounder, younger...

    Nice work!
This finally made me realize what really irks me about the design: It seems that (at least in my mind) one of the defining features of Arcee is how her collarbones and chest connect as one smooth surface, while the TT design breaks up that line.

I clumsily photoshopped that bit, and whoomp - going from weird to pretty decent imho!
Sadly, that "little detail" is messing with the the basic engineering of the whole figure, so it'll remain a photoshop. arcee-defining_shape.jpg

Well visualised, this is exactly what I said a few pages back. It's not so much the position of the chest (I think its a tad low but forgivable) but the way the upper slope starts below the shoulders rather than at them. Add to that the long pointed face and the exaggerated hips and this just doesn't look like on screen G1 Arcee to me....which I thought was the look TT were going for with MP these days, the alt-mode nails it after all.

While screen accuracy has been the norm for awhile now, Hound and Sunstreaker et al aren't the lead MP designer's waifu, so...

Seeing Tigatron got a full page, alt and bot mode spread, does it means it's s chance POs could go up next month for him. Arcee maybe April/May?

Very possible! Both preorders should go live this spring so that timeline absolutely makes sense!

    Yes, that's exactly the part I'm talking about. Thank you for the enlarged pic, I can see it more clearly now, which now leads me to;

Yes, I can see what you mean. I now believe that you are right. I'm just curious about that part, if it's an exhaust/mech greebling for the car mode, I don't know where or what that part could be. I don't see anything on the character sheet that resembles that part.

I'll post it here too. Pushing the collar and head down fixes everything.

Not completely, it helps but she still lacks a midriff and the slope from shoulder to...ermm... apex of her chest is too severe and concave rather than flat. The chest section should also be more flush to the collar. I've made a crude 'drawing' to show you what I mean (I also 'fixed' the chin)

    CA724614-29E3-4413-9BA2-9EE155FA1EDB (1).jpeg

If I still had my TFTM MP collection and MP-51 looked more like the above I'd almost certainly be getting her to replace FT Rouge. However I don't and it doesn't, so I wont. I think the 'need' to give her extra articulation (in this case forward arm movement) may have compromised the aesthetics... again.
