Hmm. The premise sounds at least a bit interesting, though that does make me wonder what exactly the limits of the Allsparks power is. At least it'll be short enough to get through in one long marathon.

That's a good point although the question still stands of how involved Netflix are in this except for distribution.

Netflix is the biggest streaming platform in the world which is the only smart play for Hasbro.

My concern is no matter the popularity, Hasbro won't up the budget or make a longer run.

Maybe they wanted to and part of the agreement with Netflix was that they wanted it delivered as a series. Netflix has tons of viewership numbers...it's entirely likely they've got data that says a kids show is more likely to be consumed in chunks. (Not to mention parents are more likely to plop a kid down for 20 minutes in a pinch than they are two hours.)

So you deliver quick 20 minute bursts a kid can watch and then walk away from, rather than a movie that keeps getting interrupted.

Hasbro won't up the budget if Netflix doesn't offer more money for the rights to air it. They also won't up the budget if the viewership numbers they get back from Netflix are satisfactory as is.

I’ll watch it but I’m not really feeling it. It looks a little low rent. Just a slightly more polished version of the Machinama stuff from a couple of years ago. This just has more smoke machine.

You know it’s been suggested by the fans and the surviving voice actors from G1 to do a sequel series or animated film. One last ride with the old crew. Is that too much to ask?

Edit: even doing a small film hypothetically branching G1 with Beast Wars. That be bananas bringing those two casts together. It’ll be contrived considering how BW played out, but could be fun.

Not sure why there's a ton of fuss about it only being six episodes. Just look at the Castlevania Netflix anime. Season 1 was only FOUR episodes. And it was solid as hell. It was so popular that the second season was ordered for double that amount clocking in at eight episodes.

Point being, and I know this is very tough for some of you, but watch before judging/bitching. And if you like it, let it be known. Netflix WILL order more episodes if the demand is there. They will give it a higher budget and a longer run. Not saying it's a sure-fire thing but it's better than complaining into the void on an online forum.

I understand that concern, but in terms of upping the budget... look at how this looks compared to the Prime Wars shows. The budget has already been upped. And if the show is popular, increasing the production quality will actually benefit Hasbro.

Dunno how yer gonna tell a story with 6 eps @ 20 minutes each, but considering SIEGE is the 1st part of a trilogy, this should be good. I\'m blown away by the animation.

I'm glad it's not that brightly colored, cel-shaded garbage, Bee looks like Bee and Jetfire starts out as a Decepticon. Megatrons lips, as has been mentioned many, many times, look ridiculous. Other than that, I can suffer through some shitty writing, if the story ends up being decent.

my thoughs on the 6 episode count .............

I dont really consider 6 eps a series. A 6 part special along the lines of Five faces of Darkness ( only 5 eps ) but not a series.

If they only do 6 eps a year ( or for each line ) IM okay with it, but why cant it be part of an existing continuity then? If this ( which is will ) contradicts , say the old g1 cartoon , it makes it all non cannon to each other respected shows. Id rather see something that adds to an already existing continuity to start up a whole new one.

but thats just me and what I would prefer.

Ill check this series out for sure though.

When a new series was announced with Netflix I was hoping for a couple dozen half-hour weekly episodes, or maybe a dozen hour-long weekly episodes. Something well written with substance. Something at least as good as Beast Machines! Something NOT like the Prime Wars series. A real TV show. This franchise doesn't need to prove itself; it already has over and over.

Ahh, I think I know why the toy-based models don’t sit right with some people- they don’t look like they fit their surroundings. They don’t really blend in with the world around them, kinda like they’ve been photoshopped in.

RT isn’t actually creating it, just producing. Which is probably a blessing. Dunno if anyone here watches RWBY, but it is bad.

6 episodes is pretty standard for most streaming stuff nowadays.
Most "seasons" of Voltron were 6-ish.
And this already has more seasons in the pipeline.
    It'll probably be really cool!!!

And if it's not, you only lose out on two hours, and then we all get to make fun of it forever.
    Its a win-win, really! :D

If they had announced a 2-hour movie no one would have a problem. But split it up into six parts and suddenly it's too short.

No, this can't be a kids show, look how dark the lighting is, and how deep and gravelly everyone is speaking....maybe a damn word will be spoken.
