Got my copy of Lightning Eagle in the mail today. I love it! Pics did not prepare me for his size, so here are some size comparison pics to give further context for others who might be wondering.



Oh hey, look! The friction from the slot system for attaching the thruster guns in base mode is *JUUUUUST* enough to hold them on to the arms in combined mode. I wouldn't want to re-pose the arms after they're on, though. Your milage may vary.

This is so damn amazing. I might be drooling on my keyboard.

 

So FYI: on my copy, BOTH sides of these parts were installed upside down, and needed to be flipped. Super easy to do so, and now that I'm aware of the correct configuration, I'll probably glue them in place.

My preferred basemode for his trailer. Not really into transforming its legs completely for the base.

The articulation is fantastic, especially for its size.

I got the Black God Bomber to combine with him! I think it looks great! Anyone else have this guy combine with a God Bomber?

Also i ended up having to glue the green-turquoise-ish shoulder-pads on the super robot mode. The first time i pulled up the handles so he could hold them, the shoulder-pads popped right off. Just a little dab of superglue fixed it up though.

 

"Autobots, arm your turrets! Combine with them if you can and need to!"

 

I thought I'd just get Lightning Eagle for the core bot and fun base mode. But my word the combined mode has got such a chonky gaudy presence that will outshine everything else on the shelf!
