Just for the record, mine just did this exact same break over the weekend when packing for a move. It had just been sitting on a shelf for the last two years.

    Hi All!

I guess this is my 1st post here but I am intrigued to post the fix I did over the broken waist part of this awesome Jazz from GenToys.

As mentioned earlier; my copy broke in half (exactly the same as Megatron118's.

How I fixed mine WITHOUT GLUE is:
    1. Disassemble the whole waist part - Remove the rubber part - this part can be thrown away as the original function is to provide more friction to the legs - you may apply some nail polish to the joint to get back the friction as you see pleased.
    2. Unscrew the screw from the rear part - keep the original broken "female thread" section - keep it as it will act like a "bushing" during assembly.
    3. Using the same screw, screw-in on the front part - this is to create thread on the front part.
    4. Find a longer screw with the same diameter as the original screw - ideally additional 4mm in length.
    5. Use back the broken piece from step no.2 above, screw-in, and hold the whole assembly together while you screw in with the "new-longer-by-4mm" screw.

The question for this fix would be where to find such screw.
I had my luck by using Tamiya Mini 4wd screw and as long as the length is right, you will not over-penetrate the front part of the waist; exercise care when you screw them back.

    Hope this helps. Cheers.

Rather interesting set of posts... Seems the waist plastic becomes brittle over time as I haven't been to this thread for a while myself. Confirming mine also did the same thing after sitting on a shelf for 18 months behind glass. I also thought my break an isolated issue. I went to transform it to car mode for a house move and put it back in the box and it sheered in half at the waist. Check your plastic, the fix without glue may work if your plastic isn't actually broken off. Mine was definitely broken where it shouldn't be so it needed glue. I simply super glued it back together and haven't had another issue. He's even coped fine with another house move since then. It was just a bitch to get the all the different parts secured in-place for the glue to set.

So this has been bugging me.

People keep putting J4ZZ out, broken and intact and new and used alike, for some high prices out there in the aftermarket.

But does anyone ever actually buy him for those prices?

It’s a nice figure and pretty much the closest thing we have to a voyager sized IDW inspired Jazz.

The people who specifically want him for their IDW collections would probably be willing to pay those prices.

FYI folks I have a MIB GT J4zz available for sale. It's completely unbroken, has reprolabel applied... slightly dusty, that's all. Only transformed twice (once to robot mode, and again back to car mode to pack up)... I transformed and reboxed it last week with bated breath and I'm happy to say it had no issues. All the ones I'm seeing online are for roughly 200, I'll let it go for less than that. Let's say... $170 shipped in the States?

Probably the same mindset as selling the MT Seekers or Jazz for like 200 plus dollars. Personally I wouldn't spend more than 100 bucks on any of those figures but that's just me.

Yeah, I’m in the same boat.

J4ZZ looks like an amazing figure, and I’d love to have him in my IDW-centered collection. But the size and craft has a pretty standard value to it MP-wise, and I don’t think the current rarity is enough to make him worth that much more than his market value. Not to me, anyway.

He’s good but not that good.

He’s most definitely not a brand new $200 buy. Most of us got him for the regular retail price at one point.

Would I personally pay $200.00 for this, to fill my IDW Jazz void, if I did not currently have him? Hmm... I don’t know. Probably no, but I don’t know. Jazz isn’t a super important character for me.

Now had I missed SXS’ Rodimus? I’d *personally* pay $200.00 for him had I missed him. And he’s worth even less, fit and finish wise, compared to GT Jazz.

Just matters how much you like him I guess.

Disagree, it's a wonderful figure with nice painting touches (being the fact that is a 2 year old figure).
Transformation is fun, posability is nice.

He's on of my favourite 3rd Party figures. He isn't in my collection and sits off to the side but he is everything a figure should be. Well painted with out risk of being ruined in transformation. Well engineered. ...Oh and those magnetic doors... That is premium.

    Unfortunately it's not mib :)
Anyway I was saying that it's nice considering that's a 2 years old toy and should be compared to another 2 years old one because in last 2 years we've seen a huge increase in quality of paintings and in joints and posability. Let's say that if I would compare with fanstoys koot (correct me if I'm wrong, it's more or less 2 years old too) I find J4zz million of times more enjoyable, only downside is his 'lightweight" plastic against the "heavy" ft figures. And my Koot went away (easily) for 180usd...
