    Ok
My main point was we could have a new repaint of cog that could fit grand Maximus,

but sure, Autobots have spies everywhere (and Jetfire toy can switch of insignia already)

I hate when they use they toys to design the CGI models, kibble and all. Its like Unicron Trilogy all over again. It thows me off in so many ways. It ruins my minset that this could actually be happening in real life in another galaxy and makes me feel like im watching a 22 minute long toy commercial with walking talking toys. And on the toy front, it leaves me no room to praise the toys for how cartoon accurate they are because they drew it to look like toys on purpose. I want the toys to be cartoon acvurate, but not like that. They might as well have drawn in screw holes, tabs, ports, etc. At least TF Prime gave you some differences to differentiate fiction from real life reality.

Seems to me that if you can afford a deluxe figure you can afford Netflix

Most basic price point is cheaper than a deluxe figure, though I understand the reluctance. Like I keep telling people though. Trial memberships are a thing.

Just watched the trailer and lmao, the transformation noise sounds so out of place given the tone of the trailer.

Tbh this just looks like the Prime Wars trilogy with a slightly higher budget

I mentioned yesterday already that I think the Cog repaint will be a wave 2 repaint, sure he could fit grand maximus obviously since the color scheme and mold already works with fort max's mold but the main takeaway i have with more Cog's showing up is that they will probably be the new autotroopers of wfc and we will probably see some more repaints down the line if Hasbro goes that route.

I kinda really want an Armada Prequel now. That would've been loads better at least.

Only Energon and Cybertron did that shit. Armada did it better.

Personally, I think they would probably bring in Unicron and bring in the Quintessons.

Animated was awesome. Agree 100% about Mashitima though.

Hmm. This looks completely pointless to me. I speak as a G1 fan from way back whose seen practically every iteration since.

The CGI looks perfectly fine to me. I can't pick a single nit,** unlike others who are disappointed. I'm only paying attention to Transformers because I think Siege was a wonderful exercise in re-engineering those forms. To me, it's the story seems also-ran.

    **OK, Megatron's lips…WTF?

I realize Transformers has always had a "war" element to it. But the strength of the series isn't just that the robots fight. I think we've seen this bleak, "endless war" on Cybertron as a backdrop for Optimus Prime speaking wistfully for quite some time.

Those of us who have nostalgia from the Sunbow Cartoon to TFPrime, can remember when the characters were interesting when they did something different — even something kind of stupid from an adult perspective. But Megatron trying to turn the Earth into metal, or Starscream plotting to resurrect dead Skyquake with dark energon, etc, gave the characters somewhere to go. Gave them a little more science-fiction. Even in dumb cartoon logic.

(And yes, robot zombies with dark energon makes zero sense in any way. Aren't robot zombies literally just robots? But I'm focusing more on the idea of machinations other than mere political/war allegories.)

I'm not interesting in just watching robots constantly shell one another in a Transformer version of the Somme. I more interest in that as a kid, but the battles alone weren't what make me have nostalgia. Constant battles are a thing for strategy games. Or for the console games, which were fun for what they were. I'd be interested if the fighting were just a smaller element to the story. If they had some other goals. (Something OTHER than the Allspark…or Unicron…)

Caveat: maybe this is for kids and not me? Sure. But I remember what irked me as a kid. And I've seen kids themselves find Miko irritating, too. So I'll see how this is all received.

To be fair, you are, in fact, watching a 22-minute toy commercial. Haha But I feel the same. I prefer the toys to be accurate to the show rather than the other way around if that makes sense.

Mostly I'm just bummed that we don't have Peter Cullen for this.

Here's the thing: when bay was presented with doing a cinematic rendering of TF, he literally said it was a dumb idea. Consequently, the 5 entries that followed magnify that sentiment. Basically, he didn't care enough to initially educate himself on what he was presented, nor did he understand why many nearly rioted when he revealed he didn't want to use him, and nor did he completely understand several other foundational elements of the lore, or why his work still leaves a bad taste in many mouths. Liam Neeson is a great voice, however Prime should have a deep, commanding voice. Neeson's is midrange. Other suitable choices IMO would be Avery Brooks, the guy who voices the, "Arby's has the meats" commercials, and any one else in a similar deep voice range, who'd have the chops to pull it off.

Going forward, I'll admit that at some point, hopefully Hasbro and Paramount (even though they were forced to use G1 as a safe haven, due to the fact TLK bombed, bay's entries STILL leave a putrid aftertaste, AND G1 still sells), will also realize that there needs to be a reinvention and different focus in the future. Problem is, they still need to create a solid establishment first. It's a travesty it took 11 years to get (Travis Knight's excellent entry) what we should have gotten in 2007.

Oh wow, that actually looked better than I thought it would. Of course, Rooster Teeth has a better track record than Machinima in general.
