All these Earthrise figures that were first released in Siege...kinda irks me a little. I'm glad I at least held out on buying Siege Smokescreen, though it still means I will be rebuying Bluestreak and Prowl (and maybe Barricade) when their inevitable Earthrise figures show up. Earthrise Megatron doesn't look too different from Siege, but boy is that not gonna help the already shelfwaming Siege figures any. And seeing Sideswipe and Hound on the Earthrise box art has me worried they're gonna get the Earthrise treatment, too...
or you know you could just not buy new versions of characters that you already have and just be happy with the ones you already have. I see these trilogies as one continuous line, and once I have a character from a line I don't buy that character again. I mean they all still basically look the same in robot mode and if that is how you display them then what is the difference if one figure is from Siege and the other is from Earthrise?
I personally don’t mind it because I’m so used to different versions of Star Wars and Marvel characters. It DOES kinda bother me that Siege and Earthrise Prime have the exact same head sculpt. I suppose that’s why they wanted to do yellow eyes.
My beef with Earthrise is more about how it renders Siege pointless. If they were going to do these really nice updated G1 accurate figures...why waste anyone's time with those "Cybertronian" alts that turned into slightly less G1-ish bots? Knowing what I know now, I'd rather Siege had been used to give us a combination of actual Cybertronian alts with completely unique bot modes that didn't have Earth alt details. Think War Within, Unicron trilogy, etc. At least then when we got yet this Megatron it wasn't a bore because Siege had him turn into...I dunno...a giant bomber jet.
Just picked up EarthRise Hoist and IronWorks at Bloomington Target- Left 1 EarthRise IronWorks on the shelf. If anyone sees that Target begins to clearance their Leader Class Ultra Magnus and ShockWave pm me. Every Target I go to seems to have 5 of each. Would love to pick up one of each when they get below $30
(I grabbed a bunch of the Pilot Knob bot bots, but there's 1 set left >> ) Couple thoughts on everything: 1) The netflix figures timing is so bad. Like, the decos look AWESOME, but man, I have SIX refractors. As cool as that new deco is, I don't want another one. I imagine a lot of people fall into that camp. MAYBE mirage and sideswipe, but that's it. 2) I think it's too bad Siege didn't do more out-there designs, especially since it's clear people want War Within and WFC/FOC designs, considering Planet X is still around and WW Primes keep popping up. It's not to say Siege had BAD figures (I really liked it), it's just that they didn't do what they could with it. I WANT Cybertronian alt modes. At least it's something different rather than just getting more G1 version one-jillion. (one of the reasons I like the movie guys, too) 3) I think MOST of the ER figures we've gotten have thankfully not just been rehashes, and they've all been a lot of fun. I like the bases, I like double dealer, I like the weird quintesson base thing, and I'm a HUGE scorponok fan, so sign me up. I'll prolly get Smokescreen since he's the only datsun I didn't get get, but I'm not gonna buy 3x seekers again, or that megs since he's the same mold with a HIDEOUS sword and I already own Siege, G2, and Cell-Shaded decos for that mold. 4) I guess there's something with those remolds for the people who didn't want the cybertronian versions? That's such a gamble to wait, though... That said, I do wish they had done a DIFFERENT megatron entirely. Jet, car, truck, whatever.... At least OP is a (mostly) new mold. Anyway, overall cool stuff today. At least if I want new characters who aren't just G1, I can go to BotBots and get a present that turns into a ninja or a neck pillow that turns into a pug. XD
Since there was a G1 Astrotrain sighting, I checked on Brickseek and it looks like stores are starting to get them in. Fridley WM was saying 3-4 in stock, so I went there to check but there was nothing out. Blaine Ulysses WM was saying Limited Stock so I wasn't expecting much, but since it was on my way home I stopped in and checked. There was nothing on the shelf and I was about to leave, but I saw the pallet of stock they were about to put out and looked it over. I spotted one box labeled "TRA Gen G1 Spring Transformers" (or close to that anyway) and that sounded suspiciously like what I was looking for, so I asked an employee if they could open it up. Sure enough, it was a 2-pack of G1 Astrotrains! Grabbed one and put the other on the shelf behind some Cyberverse stuff (or something like that anyway).
Target has BOGO on all Transformers, plus $20 WfC Voyagers. Works on Pre-Orders. So if you wanted Snapdragon yesterday, you can PO him *and* the Judge today for $30 total.
I went with Doubledealer and a 10 buck Snapdragon. It will be nice to be finally free of that T30 mold from the shelves.
Yup I moved most of my preorders over to Target with that price mistake and BOGO 50% deal. Just have Scorponok and Sky Lynx ordered elsewhere since I don't think Target has them. Will have to cancel my Pulse and BBTS preorders now!

May not matter. Went back to order a pair of Doubledealer (to split savings with someone) and that stuff is already selling out.
A lot of these aren't impossible to find in stores. I added the places I've most recently seen them. As for my own sightings, between yesterday and today: Nothing of interest at Bloomington, EP, and Bville Targets. Nothing interesting at EP WalMart aside from the Bluestreak and Soundblaster mentioned above. Shakopee target had ER Micromasters and a TON of Pteraxadons if you're looking for cheap axes. Shakopee Target also had s4 BotBot 8 packs, but those seem pretty common now. I think that the 5-packs are gonna be basically impossible to find so I bit the bullet and just bought 8-packs for the ones I was missing. That said, if anyone sees S4 blind packs (dark blue bubble), please PLEASE hit me up, as I need like.... 2 guys from those to finish s4.
