It's not a base mode. It's launch configuration for the large missile. The struts are quite necessary to actually support the vehicle in stability when dealing with the large down force the missile will create when launching off the platform.

The buzzard tail acts as a base for which the rocket thrust can push against. The little details like this for Doubledealer is pretty damn awesome.

thats honestly more likely just clear plastic and not a blast effect, especially if it has to support the weight of the figure.

Heck, Hasbro even made it blatantly obvious that we could expect this sort of Cybertonian-to-Earth evolution.

So, the disappointment about ER Megs NOT being that much different from Siege is a self-imposed false expectation, disregarding all the obvious signs on the wall yet they still chose to buy the Siege version and here we are.

 

I think Snapdragon and Runamuck are my two most anticipated figures at the moment. Both look great. I am in love with Runamucks alt mode.

A single pivot where they meet the 'egg' seems to be the only point of movement from what I can see, but tiny ball-joints would be great.

 

Snapdragon and Runamuck look superb. Hope Runamuck doesn't partsform or anything like that.
