i think I'll stick with my original ROTF soundwave. This looks too bland

 

Soundwave looks amazing. Can’t wait to see more pictures of him. (Hopefully he comes with Ravage as well.)

I think you're forgetting what the Leader version looks like.





The Leader's torso is too squat, and the chest is huge and messy. It also has way more fire truck shell on the back, and is less detailed and accurate. I also assume, based on the in-package leaks, the Studio Series one is actually red and not Hot Rod magenta.

 

Looking at it, I wonder if the helmet can actually be removed similarly to TLK Hound. I think I see some seems on the side of his face, though that could just be the CG lighting.

 

All 6 Big Bads. Now Studio Series only needs The Fallen and Quintessa left to do.

Love that sentinel. Chest is not overly chonky and the lower legs are satisfyingly thicc. Backpack is nicely minimal besides the obvious cape kibble. Great colors and detail. Transformation seems new and interesting. And articulation looks sharp, just hoping for ankle tilts. I'm real excited for that bad boy

 

Boo, boo I say! I will defend the Leader to my grave. He might not be as svelte, but the amazing transformation and lack of cheating totally make up for it.

 

I’m not saying the Leader is bad, I’m just pointing out how and where the Voyager is better. (But it should be, being nine years younger)

Anyone still have hope that the rest of the studio series like Blitzwing and Topspin will still be revealed tomorrow?

 

Soundwave looks cool but very inaccurate to what we got in the video game and with the original toy. Even so I think I prefer this new look.

 

Wave\'s robot mode looks much more solid and armor-like. Almost like they\'re aiming for the knight aesthetic he wasn\'t around for.  I like it.

I think Soundwave is missing something by not having the satelite panels on his back

 

IMO the gimmicks kill him. His transformation is great, but the battery gimmick causes his back to be an absolute mess.
Plus, even with the transformation, his robot mode just..doesn’t look right with the rest of the movie aesthetic, not to mention the leader is WAYYY too big.

big fan of the new Sentinel- not so much a fan of that Soundwave. Interesting that he seems to share thighs with the DOTM one? I’ll likely get him, but I am still quite a fan of the G1-inspired one I have from ROTF, HES likely a little bigger than this guy, too.
