They've got the data, not us. And now that brand unification is a thing it's likely that Takara is going to lean on Hasbro. Especially since their teams have most of the design input.

Also, the biggest complaint regarding the Datsuns is that they, uh, don't really look like Datsuns.

I suspect that head is a pre-CGI tool head anyway. They would be stupid not to just reuse the WFC Siege head. Remember how for example, TR Rumble/Frenzy's CGI shot used Rewind's head?

Why would you put Earth style stickers on a clearly Cybertronian toy?
Also, after Starscream and Prime, you did not see this coming?
I am betting Sideswipe and Ironhide are getting a retool too, soon. They transform pretty much the same way in Earth mode too as in Cybertronian mode.

 

TFCC Runamuck certainly is. I can't really tell what they're doing with Earthrise, yet.

My assumption goes to the culture-specific sensibilities I referenced earlier.

I would love to get a break from cartoon-accuracy. I'd love a yellow-eyed Optimus. I'd love a break from the box cabs. Gimme a G1-inspired Optimus with a movie-inspired Mack Truck mode. Gimme a oil tanker trailer. Gimme a G1 Starscream with Doritoscream proportions, or a spindly Prime-styled body. Give me something different.

But we don't get that. Our only option is Sunbow Accuracy. So of course we're going to buy them, they're the only game in town.

 

The WFC years are great for my wallet - pretty much all I'm consistently buying is the Micromasters and the Weaponizers.

I've already got a perfectly fine set of Datsun Bros, I sure don't need TWO SETS in as many years.

Anything that unfolds into a playset has my attention, tho. I just wish they were back-compatible with the Titans Return bases.

Megs and Smokescreen were already killing my Earthrise vibe, this is also a mixed bag but not as disheartening as siege redos.
I never cared about Alicon, looks cool though, happy for those who want it.
I'm in on A Quintasant for my micromaster city, I like the base mode.
I must say, I like Runamuck, I will probably get him to fill out my 'con shelf
I like snapdragon, I'll get him (and I didn't get Apeface) if he isn't the same color white as Apeface.
And DAMN, Double Dealer looks like TRASH. I do agree that it a godbomber pretool, it just looks like a bad Double Dealer.

 

Hmm, because of how much praise John Warren and other Hasbro staff given adult collectors at conventions and toy fairs over the years. I guess it's safe to say that HasTak is mainly banking on children buying this figure again.

 

Remember when we thought the Smokescreen listing could've been G2 or even Armada Smokescreen? Nope, another G1 Smokescreen.

I wish we could get a toyline where we can get characters from any generation in TF history. Maybe they could call it Generations, because it'd cover more than One Generation...
