Earthrise Megatron isn't a bad figure, I'd say it's better than Siege Megatron, but man, this is disappointing, as in, kill me.
Earthrise Smokescreen looks good, and is to be expected.
Micromasters look neat. Long boys for the win.

 

Ok. I still refuse to accept the fact that Megatron now transforms into a tank. And they should've scrapped the robot modes for the Micromaster bases. Because some things you just can't un-see.

 

Really looking forward to the MM shuttle.

The rest are good, if not particular exciting. Except for Megatron, who serves no purpose.

 

Ah, I thought he was Leader class.

 

Siege Optimus was good, and Earthrise Optimys was even better.
Siege Megatron was... ok, and Earthrise Megatron is... ok.

 

It's sad becuase Megatron pretty consistently gets the short end of the stick, OP has been getting several figures with outstanding engineering, interesting tricks in transformation and excellent articulation (both in Studio series and WFC) while Megatron gets figures that aren't bad, but certainly got waay less love than his eternal rival.

Airwave = Pleasant Surprise. I really like this robot mode and of all the improvised robot modes this one is my favorite.
Micromasters = All look great, one has duel pistols!
Smokescreen = Looks good, But they should have held back on the Siege one. I don't have the Siege one so maybe. I'll pick it up.
Megatron = What are we doing here? Megatron doubles down on the parts that could have used improvement prior. Same ankles same wrists and a larger removable cannon part. ....If they give him a CW Megatron style paint job these short comings could be forgiveable. We'll see.

I think if G1 conversions require broad use of partsforming then it's time to switch to a different style.

 

A bunch of "meh". Lazy remolds and micromaster crap I don't care about.

 

I just noticed something. Why does Smokescreen have the number 80 on his doors? Surely, Hasbro didn't lose the rights to use his regular number 38.

I’m disappointed. All this stuff looks really bland. Especially that megatron, which honestly doesn’t look too different than the cyberverse figure. Thank the matrix for studio series to keep me interested in the brand.

 

Earthrise Optimus was an awesome upgrade from Siege Otimus, but with the Megatrons... their disappointing.

 

So, here's my problem with WFC. I want a complete collection of G1 Autobots *in the same style*.

I currently have this with CHUG. This won't happen with WFC. The ones released in Siege are scifi style while the ones in earthrise are earth style. Part 3? Who knows... Probably back out into space and more futuristic.

So, they're redoing the Datsuns... But unless they redo SS, RA, Mirage, Hound, Ironhide, and Ratchet too... There will still be this disconnect.

I also don't want to go replacing bots here and there in my CHUG group because, again, they're just a different aesthetic/size and they won't blend well.

So unless Hasbro can pull a complete WFC earth style group out of it's ass in these last two parts, I'm out.

 

I'm happy to see these reveals, but I feel like I don't need to buy that Megatron or Smoke Screen. I wish Hasbro was a little more transparent with what they were going to do for Earthrise. Or even saved Smoke Screen for this line and keep the last one out. Otherwise, cool stuff! I wonder what else they'll show this weekend.

 

Genuinely curious... Stipulating that gun-modes are nigh-impossible these days, do you have a preferred non-tank mode for Megatron?

 

Hollow feet and clip-on wheels aside, that Smokescreen is near perfection for a mainline figure in my book.

 

Except it actually becomes a real weapon, a properly convincing sword and gun.

This is just an obviously part of a tank turret with a blade sticking out.

 

THESE I would buy in a heartbeat.

I think I like the Siege one more in both cases. Airwave looks interesting, though.
