It's like you didnt read my comment in full where I addressed Exclusives.

Roller is a mid to top tier character, not a scrub, an obscure, lesser known or specialty type character etc.

Theres no reason he cant have his own mold etc.

 

If the "hoverboard" actually transformed in some way to try and sell the idea more, I'd think it's cool. But it doesn't. It's literally a chunk of car that Arcee now surfs on. They couldn't properly integrate it into bot mode, so they just left it out and then said "LOL ITS A HOVERBOARD GUYZ!"
They could have done more. Even flip it upside down and have some detailing inside to make it seem... purposeful?

NASA has been allowing their trademark to be used on more and more things in the past few years. LOTS of clothing (eg Uni-Qlo), different shoe brands... Not surprised.

But LOL at Sky's quite literal chicken legs. Hope they can support his weight.

 

THOUGHTS:

1. Why didn't they wait just two more days to reveal these guys at Toy Fair? Why spoil the big in-person reveal with some renders?

2. Arcee looks fine but might as well not be a Transformer. If the alt mode shell and bot mode share NONE of the same parts... what's the point? Why not just remove the WHOLE backpack and have the car and robot be two separate toys? (Although that hoverboard is the most hilariously lazy thing I've ever seen.)

3. Sky Lynx looks pretty much perfect. I'm not a big fan of the character or design, but those that are must be absolutely over the moon right now. If you like Sky Lynx, I'm not sure how that figure could be any better. The articulation and proportions look awesome (that neck!).

4. ...Still can't stop laughing at Arcee's "hoverboard."  

 

I am definitely getting Sky-Lynx. Glad to see we have confirmation of him separating into bird and lynx mode but the designers went above and beyond with that base mode! I also love the "Magnificence" name on the shuttle. This set will be an instant buy. Scorponok is also a buy. I'm not as much into the character but I do like the scorpion mode and I would like to get him so I can have a full set of updated citybots.

Arcee on the other hand, I am not sure about. I do have the Thrilling 30 Arcee and while I don't like the black highlights, I think the mold is pretty good. But looking at the new one, I do admit, the vehicle and bot modes look really good, but the thing that bugs me is a big part of the vehicle having to pop off as a "hoverboard" I know they probably didn't have anywhere else to put it design-wise but I will have to see in-hand pics an reviews before I fully decide whether to buy her or keep my Thrilling 30 Arcee.

Yeah that does look curious. The amount of joints he has in the legs is insane, even the ankle tilting... We will just have wait and see. I am half expecting to see 3p upgrades coming for him too, which i'd more interested in than usual especially given the likely hood he won't quite match the height of FM. Even though accuracy design wise he more satisfying than FM was. The 3p prices have to not be taking the pi$$ though.

When I heard that Arcee would have a hoverboard, I was under the impression that her entire back kibble could detach and form the board, and I was more than happy with that. This is just the worst of both worlds.

 

Somebody is going to have to explain the love for Fasttrack to me. Among all the weaponizer's so far, he's easily the most bland. He's just a great robot who turns into a grey... vehicle. It's not really a tank, not really a car, just kind of a thing on wheels.

One thing I will say about Arcee: the face sculpt is perfect, and makes the MP look embarrassing by comparison. I just can't believe they threw in the towel so hard on her transformation. Like it's bad enough she parts-forms, but even her remaining kibble is huge and ugly, like no attempt was made to engineer it to compress or fold up besides the wheels.

 

Does anyone posses the ability to use the 5mm port, copy that spot and multiple that image up and down in order to get hight in Sky Lynx mode and length in Shuttle mode?
I really need to know how this SL measures up against POTP Predaking. Someone please help

I'd argue that FMs head is not well done. He needs to be a head in robot mode and the tower in alt mode. There is no configuration for the Titan itself where it makes sense to have the head be in robot mode.

Everything about the current FM stinks. Yes, it needs a new version.

 

It's hype. Break through all the noise of the weekend by announcing early, get some attention, and then reveal more.

 

Looking at how that seems to plug in, I wouldn't be surprised if it literally is the entire car hanging off her back with just the wheels folded in.

I may still get this Arcee just for my collection since we don't have a ton of G1 Arcee's but wow, that hoverboard is weak. Great over all robot sculpt and vehicle mode but the Takara Legends repaint of the Thrilling 30 figure isn't leaving my shelf to be replaced y this new one.

Skylynx though...wow...amiritepeople? Thing of beauty and the Magnificence name on the side is brilliant!

Skorponok is...not terrible but it has some issues. I hope he's still tall though, lol.

... possibly controversial opinion but i think earthrise arcee is miiiiiles better than MP-51 in terms of robot mode   especially the face sculpt, it's a lot cuter and softer.
the "hoverboard" is kind of dumb i admit but otherwise I Am In Love.

 

Hey everybody who missed out on Legends Arcee! Uuuh... they made a better one!!!

 

That is what the G1 was. A thing on wheels, three wheels thank you very much, orange ones at that. Kids 80s developed love affairs with all the little accessories, i know i loved various random parts of metroplex.

The G1 toys, the little sci fi tank that is Fasttrack and even Cog Fortmaxs little tank guy were way cool. Designing those today they just don't don't quite pull off the same level of dope, but they are still those characters upgraded into modern figures.
