I find funny that people complained that Generations Arcee was a shellformer because of her huge backpack but at least her legs and chest turned into part of the vehicle.

What do you think about this?

 

It is hilarious when you think of Fans Toys, MMC, Igear, and now Takara jumping through hoops to try and make this all work and the Hasbro stumbles in to the room drunk and shouts "Just make it a shield!"

agreed. Though, at least they put in the Zarak shield. Get your Fort maxes and master swords ready

 

I've been waiting for these announcements since the speculation some of these figures would be coming out a while ago, so im gonna split this into sections...

Scorponok:

FRICK HE LOOKS REALLY GOOD. Now that we have a clear photo of him I'm not worried about his potentially short arms, as they seem scrunched up in the photos. Proportions seem to look pretty great, no really horrible hollow pockets visible, alt modes look beautiful. I really dig the hybridization of the g1 figures modes with the original marvel comics aesthetics and proportions. As a massive fan of The Headmasters i was lowkey hoping for a horrible vertical eyed visor face, but you wont hear me complaining with what we got here. I just hope that Zarak gets hit with some more paint, which i assume he will. When you look at someone like Apeface's headmaster, dudes got paint apps through the roof on the titanmaster, so hopefully we get some breakup on Zaraks chest. Love the sculpt, but thats a lot of unbroken beige. Maybe the cuts are deep enough and IRL shading will help it look less flat. We'll see what toyfair holds.

Those colors seem really bold, and im glad they stuck with those bold colors, but i wouldnt have been upset if they were a little more pastel. That much purple and neon green is quite aggressive to look at, but Titan Devestator looked killer, so again this will have to be an in person decision. Also diggin the eyes on the Scorpion, one of the few Scorponok's whos scorpion head doesnt just look like a robot head face down.

Fasttrack:

Still loving the fact that each titan is getting their pack in partners finally as individual releases, and they're looking great! I passed up on Cog, but i grabbed a Sixgun on the cheap, Brunt, and a Zetar. Ill 100% be grabbing Fasttrack, not for the Scorponok pairing, but just because i really like that robot mode. His alt mode is goofy authentic fantasy and i love it.

We're seeing more weapons that act as hand covers and replacements, and they seem to be pretty effective for dudes who dont have a peg on the backs of folded away hands, or no fold away hands in general. Looks much better than the G1 dude folded in half holding some guns. Its the tiny things that make the difference here. Without the hands the arms really come off as cannon barrels better.

Skylynx:

Not much to say on this one, i dont think too many people are surprised with this one, in a good way! It seems to cover every base most people were anticipating. The Griffon mode looks intense, the treads on the feet really make the shuttle crawler mode more convincing. The full shuttle base is killer and works as a great sub in for the micromaster rocket base. Im happy he splits in half, if i pick up one i don't think its something ill use often, if at all, but i know lots of people we hoping for that feature. Here's to hoping those spindly chicken legs actually have enough weight to hold him up. Really wonder what he' going to look like for size in person.

Also, next Commander class has to be a Deception, we can all start speculating on that front now! My votes on Deathsaurus since he popped up in the "pick the next prime" fan poll for POTP as the Unknown Evil.

Arcee:

Man Arcee looks like a really good action figure with a pretender shell strapped to her back. I know the character has had a long history of massive backpacks, its just the nature of trying to go for a slender, overtly feminine body type out of something as bricky as a car. Right now im super unimpressed, the alt mode seems even less integrated than something like the Moonracer mold, and that's saying something. I dont know what else they could have done, and hell i love Siege Starscream and he's a folded action figure with a Tetrajet shaped blanket over it, so im not one to judge. we'll see how it looks in hand.

I think the bigger issue is thats not even trying to be a hoverboard. Hoverboards dont have seating for two and a windshield. My guess is its gonna be a Cliffjumper situation, where it comes off to start the process and ends by being dumped onto the back. It just feels like lazy engineering. Makes me wonder if they would have gotten less shit if they said it was shield and not a hoverboard?

now its time tow wait for that Toyfair stream thread when that pops up!! c: Here's to hoping we get even more Earthrise reveals, im still immensely interested in the upcoming Voyager Quint, and whatever the hell the Deluxe Quintessa is. Also maybe new studio series? Maybe some photos of that Voyager Blitzwing? Either or gonna be a good show. See you all there!!

 

That will be the selects repaint no doubt. I bought 2 of the Funpub medics. I dont see myself buying 2 of this mold. Maybe just one and she can be the chief medic for the other two.

 

i for real haven't stopped giggling at the simplistic absurdity of this idea and anyone who chooses "but she's paaaaaartsforming" as the hill to die on can get comfy with the POTP fembot ladies.

These all look really good. Scorponok looks the part mostly i am happy, looking very much a substanial bot.

Generations has done good, not everyone always pleased, a lot pleased, to think of a reveal like this just a few years ago, with this degree of accuracy, people would not have believed. So credit where it is due Hasbro.

 

Same here, I now want every fembot redone like Arcee with parts forming, type with a straight keyboard that Siege Chromia looks better than this Arcee.

 

for me it always comes down to a taste test.

 

Honestly, why they didn't make the longcoat/cockpit portion of the POTP Moonracer mold a part that popped off and turned into two rifles is beyond me. Moonracer would have been far cooler weilding guns akimbo than a hunchback.

Arcee looks like G1 Arcee. Sexy lady with a crumpled up car glued to her back.

Skylynx is something I’ll probably grab on sale since I don’t know the character well but I really like his look.

Lugnut would make a baller Leader Class. If we do a Commander Class Con, I can think of no better behemoth than Tidal Wave

 

Seeing scorponok I really think they need to redo Fort Max. He just barely transforms at all and that City mode is really poor. 

Scorponok, Omega Supreme, and Trypticon have such better base modes. Even Metroplex modes are G1 faithful. 

Fort Max was just a disappointing remold of Metroplex that didn\'t transform all the way. Only the head master stuff was well done. Here Scorponok is a double head master too and all his modes look great.
