Well, as seems de rigueur for modern Triple Changers on first transform(s) I respect Apemush's transformation more than enjoy it. Definitely not loving gingerly wiggling out the shield/tailfins in fear of the very long and apparently very snap-able transparent post (I reckon it could have been done about a third shorter than it is but am too cowardly to cut mine down, in the meantime I *think* I've figured out the knack for pulling it straight off - that will probably be impossible with freshly-trimmed nails - pincering it between two fingers at front and back edges and pulling straight upwards).
I dunno if I'd swear it was a TR holdover but I'd have to say it certainly sits between TR and Siege engineering, given his scale and the complexity I could be easily convinced it's a TR CAD model that's been given a Seige polish but he definitely has those Siege telltale aesthetics, a little more complexity and the scaling of him - a TR version would have been at least a head taller, hollower and ever-so-slightly simpler I'd wager.
I disagree with the kibble quibblers despite the faffiness of Transformation, as a prior G1 Apeface owner I am LOVIN' how his parts actually integrate in his various modes - I'll take a tidy, minimal jet nose/gorilla noggin rucksack over the front half a jet and ape arm tubes waggling about back there. Yeah, the jet nose is quite the gap in ape mode but, well, he turns into a brick of a jet and a giant mechanised gorilla compromises have to happen but he has waaaay less than his original!
    DSC_0048.JPG
"But, Chris," you may ask," why does your Apeface look that bit more lithe and svelte?"

"Well, my friend," I would have to answer,"It's all in the hips!"
    DSC_0053.JPG
Yes, I'm going to await daylight to get him smutted up to pick out the details, Heavens forfend I might even try my first wash (if I can find a decent tutorial), but since I first saw the finalised retail version of the mucky bugger I realised he was missing a key paint app (I'll wager missing due to the ever present budgeting) - cover those wing-rotating hip drums the wine red of his wings, and, HEY PRESTO!!!
They may as well have actually vanished!

Just seen the reactions to it over on Twitter. Amazed I've missed that today. And I might be poking the bear here, but I get the impression I couldn't post this there. I look at the exaggeration of their Furai Seeker and Devastator proportions and even the new high end Prime isn't exempt with his literal hard on as you twist his waist and I'm like, 'We're surprised these guys took this route with a female Transformer?'. They give us unnecessary ass with Windblade just as they gave us unnecessary dick with Starscream.

Not gonna defend anybody who is being an arsehole supporting it via disrespecting why others are finding it offensive, like. That shit is bang out. And I get why this one is gonna get people's backs up, just feel we should be consistent in the critique of the Furai model kit line as a whole.

Deffo to each their own on this one. And deffo not spoiling for a fight over it.

I think the difference in the crotchiness of the male TFs and buttockness of Windblade is in the posing. People seem to be choosing to pose their kits in that ridiculous way that seems so popular in Mangos, but they're not necessarily molded that way, whereas Windy's arse is literally the only part of her aside from her dead-eyed face that isn't made of pointy angular stuff. I mean, sure people can like what they want, but you bet your peachy plastic ass I'm going to judge 'em for it ;-)

I would never pick a fight with anyone here, apart from that one guy and everyone who isn't English.

    You bloody genius Chris!!

AND I've just remembered I've got some Wine-Red Mr Hobby knocking around too! :D

Ohhhhhh that Cyberverse Wildwheel is a proper fucking munter compared to his concept art. NASTY.

    @Prescient
Went into Forestside Smyths earlier, did the packaging trick with over 20 Spin Master Tacticals and Jokers, not one of them was a variant. That's a real swizz if you don't know any better...

Also, apparently being 6 foot tall and nearly 40yo means I'm into steal from the toy store - folks visibly relaxed as I bought stuff. The security guard was interested as I walked in then just didn't bother moving anyway... How much stock could they be losing that employing a full-time guard doesn't cost more?

Hey @RoboW4rrior298. Kapow got some more Starscream's in stock so you should be good on a replacement part or toy.

Thanks for the heads up, I jumped on IDs stock earlier and ordered another.

I didn’t get a reply from Kapow today which is really unusual, I’m going to call them tomorrow morning and see if my email slipped through the cracks.

My logic is that if I send the Kapow copy back and I get the ID one but it’s in even worse shape then it’ll be a huge waste of time. I might get the ID one but he’s missing the cockpit piece like yours.

I will update tomorrow when my second copy comes in.

when I first saw that arse I thought she had a couple of eggs stuck there   :lol
This look ain’t for me, especially the male characters who look like they’ve stuck a breeze block down their Y fronts...

First tf art in a good long while - used as a (not entirely successful!) warm up for getting back to watercolours (plus some digital 'post production'):

Yeah, it was a shame that the further the DCAU went the more it lost its sense of style. Inevitable really, Gotham is essentially a world unto itself, and while it is the only point of focus it can be as stylised as it likes, hence Burton and BTAS. But when it has to coexist with Metropolis or whatever a gothic/art deco urban jungle becomes less believable.

Still, kudos to WB for doing a cinematic universe with those shows long before Marvel took to the screen.

The word ‘waifu’ comes to mind. Not impressed. I guess we’ve been pretty sheltered from this kind of gross otaku pandering for a long time thanks to Hasbro’s heavy push towards Transformers as a kids’ brand, not an adult fan brand. Heavily sexualised robot girls are hardly unheard of in otaku fanbait merch, after all.

    Chomp!

Okay, so what if, say - Purely Hypothetically, you understand - say someone (naming no names) were to have failed on the whole patience front and, ah, gone....well....ape with their smoke grey clear paint?

I've had Starscream for about a week and half now and love the jet flying, Astrotrain riding, Decepticon leadership stealin, wheelin'n'dealin, son of a null ray. For both him and Optimus I have done galleries, thanks to the great Kapow, and Starscream's is now up. Taking pics of the Earthrise figures has been so much fun, they are so bleddy posable. We are in the golden age of cybertronian toys, peeps.

Here are some of the pics (the rest are on my site, link in sig if anyone is interested). :)

That looks “filthy” good. Genuinely looks like he’s jumped through some flames and been knocked about by explosions now. I didn’t realise how plain the white makes him look...

    How’s the alternate modes?

Haha! It's been a while since I did proper galleries of toys, but these Earthrise figures are so much fun to mess with. It's like Small Soldiers up in here....;)

Put in a redelivery request for my prime. No idea if it will work. Guess we'll find out friday, rather than go trudging a few miles in the mild hope that's where it is.

I would say a gothic stylised Gotham would work when in a bigger universe. Not the over the top one of the cloony one, but btas and burton ones would. Why shouldn't a city have it's unique identity? It would have to be some distance from the others, not the other side of the same lake, but it could be believable.

And here are two of the rainmakers! Woo!

Faffy to get to but solid once you get 'em all clipped together, I dig 'em - a huge improvement on G1 IMO, he's my new favourite dirty basterd!
