Marvel G1 US and UK alone have stacks and stacks of varied and interesting legacy material that ran for like 8 or 9 years that Hasbro would do well to defer to, heavily, MCU style, if they really wanted to replicate the MCU's success. The entire span of the comic series, not just 84/5 nostalgia material.

They seem to have done that to some extent with Cyberverse. Cyberverse seems to have a fair share of characters from Marvel, season three, BW etc. But they seem to be on the fringes mostly. Now they are introducing new characters I think.

I just skimmed this thread and from what I'm reading the arguments are between wanting something that differs from G1 to avoid oversaturation and sticking with G1 as its financially safe for HasTak.

Thus I'll say this and be on my way. I don't think we need a new continuity but just a show or two that has its own take on the series. An example would be Hearts of Steel. G1 Dynamic/Characters but with its own theme/gimmick (Steampunk). It wouldn't be part of any other continuity, just a stand alone show/series that had a stand alone identity.

I would say yes, it's time to get rid of G1 stuff.

Yeah, but from my understanding, it was the Predacons that came first. And that were more prevalent.

    I could be wrong.

    Time for a clean-up, I'd say.

Years of mostly inessential reboots, one after the other. Each one of them, after the Beast Era, essentially twisting and regurgitating and watering down original G1 concepts to repackage them as "All new, all different, totally not G1" in G1's place, until the next one in 3-4 years everytime. Is it any wonder that to most people outside the fandom, Transformers is a cartoon from the 80s and a series of big Hollywood movies, with sort of filler in between?

Why not, for once, try to expand and develop what Transformers actually is instead of trying to make it into yet another thing that it isn't? Let's try that for a change. Is that considered rebooting or not, at this point? Un-reboot maybe?

Why would Transformers fans want it to change in that manner anyway? There are infinite other franchises that aren't Transformers already.

Go watch GoBots. It's also got transforming robots, with different names, different setting, different tone, different style, different lore. Pretend it says Transformers in the intro if it helps.

First yes, but prevalent .....I would say not so much

The Pred’s are pretty much comic relief, and once the decepticons came around they had at least equal screen time

Just what we'd need, overpowered grimderp TF show.

Can we call it "Transformers: Buckets of Blood"? We need to stroke Walky's ego while we watch our torture porn cartoon.

But that very first pic is a rehash of the iconic look of G1 Optimus Prime.

Does continuity even matter in modern day TF? We get so many products (including media) aimed at any given age range and niche that I kinda feel like we left that concept back in 2010 and it's now just a "no fucks given" make whatever you want era.
