I've always been infatuated with the character of Barricade. Just, his entire concept. Decepticon cop car. His whole "punish and enslave" schtick. The works. It feels like forever ago, but in the years between Transformers 2007 and Revenge of the Fallen, when I was grasping for any depth that I could from that first movie, the mystery of "where did Barricade go" sucked me in hard. My interest in it (and him) was only amplified by the fact that he had a toy released during the Revenge of the Fallen under the Human Alliance subline, and well, that got me thinking, and then we found out he was coming back for Dark of the Moon, and well, I was off to the races. Parts of these first few pages are kind of raw, and I even contemplated redoing them, but they were made during a certain period of my life and well, I made them to read, so here they are.
I really like the diverse personalities of all of the supporting characters, especially Icepick and Reverb.
Not a huge fan of the movie verse, but I really liked this. The bots had distinctive personalities, ans the story is great so far. We need more! MORE!
Thanks again. Playing around with the movie verse is fun because there were a lot of cool toys released for those movies that weren't really given the attention they deserved, the Human Alliance guys being a prime example. As a kid, the non show beast wars toys captured me for the same reason.
This deserves to be canon. It would have made a great chapter in the Bayverse. Even ties up some loose ends. I like how you repurposed the black repaint of Energon Prowl as Cybertronian Barricade. Magnificent Work!!
To me, they were just sitting there waiting to be used. Thank you for enjoying my take on these guys (and gal!). Excellent. I'm thrilled you recognized them. Any stand outs? I wanted to primarily pull from whatever was included in their toy bios and go from there. Use the sparse *official* information on these guys as a springboard in to my own universe. Thank you for the *very* kind words. I'm glad you appreciated my choice for pre-Earth Barry. I considered making up some weird cybertronian police thing, but I figured, eh, I've always loved that figure, why not give everyone a reason to think about it again. That is the entirety of this first issue. I'm not sure when the next installment will be finished, but I AM working on it, as evidenced by this. Certain interested (possibly very dead) parties still feel our bad cop has a lot explaining to do.
This was awesome. I grew up with most of these sublines so this is a childhood dream come true. Specifically the allspark power line. That was a year or two after I'd first started the hobby. Back then I didn't even know this site existed.
That's fantastic. During those years, when there was a glut of movies toys, I usually prefered the allspark power figures because of their vibrant, contrasting colors. Those really were great years to start collecting.
