Possibly., Not. I don't know if super glue flexes much, I think nail polish might though as it flexes with the nail. Just kind of brainstorming and throwing ideas out there. I went back through the old Rippersnapper thread and didn't see any ideas for fixing or preventing other than sanding pegs. Mu thought was applying it to the outside of the peg to thicken it hoping to contain the pressure and stop the plastic from cracking. Kind of like an Ace bandage.

I 100% agree and also mentioned any kind of ankle manipulation while pegging in the combiner foot is a terrible idea. Remove, pose, peg back in.

Except that YOUR examples are not apples to apples either! :p

Piranacon is an actual G1, mainline release, right? I don't care about Megatronia or Grand Galvitron.

Even if Hasbro chooses not to release this set, they can release a better set later. I'll tell you why, Leels. Because it grows the BRAND! :lol

TakTom can have weird repaints; Hasbro commands the fresh molds. We got Apeface in Siege, with Scorponok coming in whatever next series (Earthrise release?). A proper Piranacon could be around the corner! And this is assuming Hasbro goes new and does NOT release this TakTom set.

Yeah, I'm optimistic. But you can't be too cynical with recent releases like Spinister and Rung. ;)  I just really hate thinking about how some fans think ANY PRICE is okay on these products. :(  Prices will keep rising if everyone buys! HasbroPulse is selling these directly: they will know what to raise prices to next year!

Ugh... If Hasbro sells these via Pulse... Maybe these are the "Hasbro" releases! :(  I just remembered the brand unification malarkey, where TakTom releases are now identical to Hasbro releases. Huh.

    Not stupid?

The amount of work put into the Seacons and the additional parts required for them pushes the toys out of Hasbro's standardized budget structure. They have no method of releasing the toys into a standard retail environment as a result. Not in a way that made sense for these toys, at any rate.

At least they’re importing them. Hasbro didn’t do squat to import any of the prime wars Takara exclusives except for the ginrai mold

It really wasn’t though. It was well documented that hasbro was importing them via pulse and if you wanted them you should have ordered from there within the posted window (even Takara had an order window). Ordering from somewhere other than pulse is what was a nightmare because of Bbts’ screw up causing everyone to panic. Is it a nightmare after the order windows closed? Sure, but that is on Takara, not hasbro

Well, the problem now is that you're outside of the official pre-order window. These were supposed to be "made to order"-level limited. So sources are drying up now that pre-orders are closed and middle-man retailers are shoring up their extra stock.

The outside of the peg? Do you mean to say the outside of the combiner peghole? I don't know how well nail polish would stick to the plastic and to what extent it dries versus superglue, which of course essentially dries quickly into pretty much another coat/layer of plastic. Nail polish does seem much easier and less messy to apply compared to superglue, which will be a real mess if you get it on the wrong area or spill it.

I suppose you can apply a layer of superglue to a surface by say, cutting out a small piece of plastic from a trading card sleeve (like those cheap Ultra Pro ones), then applying a little bit of glue to the area and using that piece of plastic to rub and spread it thinly and evenly around the area you want the glue to go on. I used superglue to thicken the pegs on my Prime Masters (the small peg on the back of their robot legs) so that they would plug into Prime Armor (PotP combiner hands) and not fall out. The method I described was how I applied that thin layer of superglue to thicken said Prime Master pegs. Prior to that, those pegs just wouldn't grip when plugged into a piece of Prime Armor and would constantly fall out. I don't have that issue anymore.

It does seem though, that once the combiner peghole breaks, you might pretty much be screwed since there doesn't appear to be any good way to fix something like that. Seems like prevention as much as possible is really the way to go where this issue is concerned.

Yes, I meant outside of the Combiner Peg Hole. Also you can buy super glue that comes with a brush applicator.

bbts attempted to get the seacons directly from hasbro rather than from takara, this is part of what caused the availability confusion and after they delisted the first wave of seacons they were not very forthcoming about what was going on

It tabs and securely. You just got to make sure the armature is positioned right and that the pegs snap in.

If you want I can take a photo this evening of how it should be?

What do you think Hasbro Pulse is?

I'm not sure why this needs to be repeated. "Why doesn't Hasbro just sell these in the US?" is a stupid question. They are. They're just getting them straight from Takara (apparently with an additional slip cover.)

The reason they're getting them "later" than e-tailers, is because etailers are technically importing them. So they're not restricted to whatever agreement Hasbro made with Takara to sell them in the US.

BBTS, TFSource, etc, are all buying directly from Takara as if they were Japanese customers and passing the added cost (their profit) on to their customers.

Hasbro is selling the figures for Takara's price and simply serving as a conduit for their customers to get the figures from Japan. The delay likely is an exclusivity agreement, as well as (as many have pointed out) a time delay in Takara shipping the product over to Hasbro en masse.
