OMG I HAVE to have that. It's so G1, and the scale is so accurate, but but, bonecrusher's treads are supposed to be green. Oh well, I think I can customize that.

No worries, thinking about doing a Youtube video and a Reddit post to save anybody from making the grave mistake you were about to make.

Just got my set in and am loving him to bits! One question though, does anyone know how to get the Devy shoulder ratchets housed in Hook flipped out without the use of a levering tool? Those ratchets are solid, which is great, but I don't wat to have to take a screwdriver to them to pry them out everytime for fear of breakage.

I had to use a broad butter knife, just to make it easier. I would suggest just finding the broadest, thickest implement that will best fill the slot, to best distribute force and not stress any plastic.

    Spudgers! Beautiful, beautiful nylon spudgers.

Seriously, though - you really shouldn't use metal tools to pry plastics. You will leave gouge marks, even with wide objects. Nylon, being slightly flexible while still being strong, is a much better option. You can also get "Carbon Fibre" spudgers, too, but I have my doubts as to whether there's actually any carbon in them (carbon is highly conductive - said spudgers are not).

They're also great for prying things apart, so see a lot of work in electrical repair (where being non-conductive helps a lot). And, as TheKingWolf said, they're dirt cheap - $2-$4 for 10, shipped, via AliExpress.

Every time I see someone one line use a screwdriver to help with a toy I cringe. They are on Amazon for like $30 for 100 of them. Get a pack of 30 and call it a day for a couple of years. They will break and the sharp points on both side will dull of time time they will not mess up your stuff. If I was a 3th Party toy company I would ship a couple out with all my stuff, would safe a lot of toys from breaking.

Hey guys! Got my jinbao battle damaged Devastator in the mail yesterday! Love the whole set, however there were many spots that were pretty under painted and just wasn't up to par with what I wanted. I did partial repaint or touch-up on everything but the crane and the mixer.

I still use a thick screwdriver, but I'll make sure it covers as much area of the joint as possible, and I'll also put my thumb on the other side of the plastic to relieve the force being applied, just in case.

Will these spludgers really work for flipping out the combined shoulder joints from Hook? I have the Daban 1:1 KO GB, and those shoulder joints are hella tight. I've broken a small metal screwdriver from it's plastic handle trying to flip those out! These spludgers look like they will also break immediately if I use them for the same thing. Otherwise, they look pretty handy for everything else.

I'm looking at a set that has different kinds of prying tools:

If you know what's the difference between each tool, lemme know.

I see Gundam marker pens in the background. Did you just use ONLY those for your touchups?

The Jinbao OS was my first aftermarket Devy, and I loved him. For the price, what isn't to love? The upgrade kit was a bit of a pain in the butt, but it was a fun learning experience ... and gave me something to do! :)  This week, I just got in the Toyworld Constructor G2 Yellow Dirty Devy & G1 Cell Shaded ... I love them TONS...they are awesome. But then again, they were nearly 4 times the cost of the Jinbao OS.

You can definitely tell a difference between Jinbao and Toyworld, but honestly, they all look awesome. If I were wanting to keep a solid green version, I probably would have stayed with Jinbao, because you simply can't beat the price for what it is. But because I was so in love with these limited edition repaints, I made the leap - these may not appeal to those who are dripping with nostalgia over the cartoon, so it may not be the right purchase for you, but if you want a regular green, I think the Jinbao OS is a great, great, great piece for the money!

Even without tons of nostalgia toward it, I really did love it. My wife said it "just looked like a toy" (which I was fine with) whereas the Dirty Devy looked like a fantastic show piece (I'm paraphrasing, ha!)

Cheap screwdrivers use really, really brittle plastic, which is often further compromised by the adhesive they use to hold the metal in place. So when you put any kind of torque on them off the axis you'd normally use for a screw, they just shatter. Hell, I've had them shatter when using them as screwdrivers instead of levers.

Spudgers (note: no "L" if you're using searches for them), on the other hand, are nylon. It's both strong and slightly flexible, so instead of just breaking straight up it'll bend - and they can bend quite a bit before they break (though they may not necessarily un-bend all the way). They're actually a lot stronger than they look, and you can turn them so you're levering across the thicker dimension to make them stronger.

That kinda sucks but give you a chance to bust out your painting skills. Mine were weathered pretty good only spot that got missed was Long Haul's cab when you lift it up.

Here is my image of mine compared to your, guess it just depends on your luck. Good thing too because I suck at painting.

has anybody tried to get the scale of each of the alt modes versus their likely real-world vehicle counterpart and against each other?
