I agree about Siege - that stuff works for me since all the extras are a part of the gimmick of the line. But yeah... the cardboard displays for SS - they’re fun if you only have one or two figures, but if you have a big collection, there’s no space-efficient way to use them.
I have never once cared for those SS backdrops. Basically went with the boxes into the garbage. Waste of space really. The Siege and Earthrise figures could stand to have smaller boxes as well given how much empty space they have in them.
Considering how Hasbro always acts so concerned about being green about the packaging, it's pretty obvious they don't actually care. I'm guessing they think big boxes will make people feel like the $20 deluxe BS is warranted.
I think it's more because the boxes look nicer to display for collectors who care about boxes than blister cards do, but... what's the point of a Transformer if you can never transform it? Actual sighting news: ...Well not really. SS ww2 bee and Sideswipe at Bville target. Nothing else of interest unless you want a 1-step repugnus. I picked one up. He's pretty good for a 1-step, and I think his beast mode is great, so I'm glad I grabbed him.
Cedar Cliff has a bunch of G1 stuff in various states of completion. Several combiners, Doubledealer, the Decepticon clones...
Anybody here have any gigapower Dino’s they want to sell? Sludge or grimlock preferably chrome versions
Yeah I just wanna open every one of those. XD With that said, do you like that part of the reason new stuff costs more is because it's got fancier boxes? I totally get the Mint in sealed whatevs collector mentality, just ain't my life!
The hardest part about hunting vintage figures was how many times I had to turn down MISB stuff because I know there's a market for that and I absolutely cannot justify paying that price when I'm going to tear it open as soon as a I get home. Broke it exactly *once* and that was when I only needed BW Lazerbeak to finish that off. Getting one is already hard, getting one with his gun is even harder. So I dropped the $20 on a BW Basic figure MISB and I opened it with glee.
Woodbury East has Earthrise Soundbarrier. IMO one odd bot. Look, I turn into a ramp! Well I guess he can become a shield, but still. They also had the red hammer / bull guy, but in Earthrise packaging.
Ended up hitting up Lino Lakes Target because I was on the road. They had nothing of interest except Rung.
EP target had: S4 botbot 8packs (I grabbed a few of them but there are a number left) Botbot claw machine and gumball sets 1 Camaro bee (I left it. Eh) Plenty of movie 1 SS Megs and 1 Mixmaster No Earthrise.
I do not post here often and I do not want to rain on anyone's parade, but why are people so enamored with the Earthrise Wheeljack? Compared to the historically beloved Generations Wheeljack (and even the lackluster Combiner Wars Wheeljack), he's much smaller, more hollow, and has fewer accessories.
Generations wheeljack has a bunch of goofy kibble. Combiner Wars wheeljack is only wheeljack because he has the headsculpt and only has more accessories if you count the HFG. Earthrise wheeljack looks great in both modes, is fun to transform, and does neat stuff that I haven't seen other TFs do in the transformation. His spoiler can be wings or armor, which gives him more ports to mount stuff on his back. Yeah, his gun is actually one of Exhaust's guns instead of his own, but in a line filled with dudes that turn into guns and shields and stuff.... who cares, I've got guns up the wazoo. As for hollowness, the only place he's 'hollow' is his lower legs. He's way less hollow than CW Wheeljack, and Gen Wheeljack basically doesn't have backs to his legs, so while ER wheeljack may have a little hollowness in his lower legs (part of which is filled in by one of the neat transformation parts I mentioned), he still has legs that have a front, back, and sides--unlike generations. Everyone's free to like what they like. I love Armada despite knowing how technically flawed it is, T-Hybrid loves CW more than basically anything else despite how technically flawed it is... But man, Siege and Earthrise are both really good, and wheeljack is a ton of fun. Now, if we were talking about hollowness and Hoist, you'd have a point... XD (though I kinda like Hoist even though he's.... rough) (Also speaking of ER, wave 1 micromasters back in stock on Amazon. Thanks for reminding me, T-Hybrid)
