Just got Starscream in the mail today!

I haven't transformed him yet, but my initial impression is a good one. The face sculpt is a bit hard to see and the eyes really could've used light piping, but I'd say he's a nice sidegrade to the Siege mold. Not sure which trio will take the place on my shelf, we'll have to wait and see if we get an Earthrise Skywarp and Thundercracker. I am really looking forward to the Coneheads too.

 

For the Grapple pegs issue, what about just filling them with a little superglue?

As predicted, Collector store is sold out of Wheeljacks. But has plenty more of the others. Goes to show how popular he is.

 

What about a combo of adding some kind of pin in there for stability? And Sanding the peg/slightly drilling the receiving hole a little bit to open it up. So it doesn't get jammed in there forever.

 

I'd kinda like to smoosh the two figures together into one, then it'd be the perfect Seeker mold. But yeah, ER's alt mode kills Siege's.

I also think that ER SS has a better alt mode, but I also like Siege for the novelty of the tetra jet, something that Hasbro never did before, while still maintaining the same robot mode.

I noticed also that ER uses mostly pins which looks better but will make disassembly EXTREMELY difficult to near impossible which also means that if you have a loose joint, it could be difficult to fix etx

I get that people are upset that Hasbro won't give SS a smirking face but I think that face fits him perfectly. It's his "Megatron just foiled his plans" face.

 

Yeah, I like it. I used a little bit of ink on the tip of a needle to bring out the expression. I think his biggest paint issue is the dark eyes. I would've liked light-piping or a brighter shade of red paint.
