Grimlock is cool. Hotrod? Only for the BAF.

And now, thinking about it, why would anyone pay the $20 Deluxe price point for a figure (Hotrod) that doesn't even bother with hinges for those huge flaps for arms? And the outside clip-on wheels?

I just realized Grimlock has 28 steps, that is crazy high for a deluxe class toy.

    You didn't.

Hasbro never officially acknowledged anything beyond wave 1 to begin with. People just noticed the other four figures being depicted on the wave 1 boxes and therefore assumed that they must all be wave 2, because that made sense to them. There was never any official confirmation regarding which figures were in which wave(s) following wave 1.

Now with only Grimlock and Hot Rod having appeared at Australian retail, it now dawns on people that just maybe these two might be the only new figures in wave 2, while Arcee and Thunderhowl are apparently wave 3. That's all we have: Speculation based on what few sparse facts we have.

Cyberverse Deluxes ship in cases of 8. There could be any combination within a single wave 2 case that allows for whatever was sighted at Australian retail. Even something utterly idiotic like 2x Optimus, 2x Bumblebee, 1x Megatron, 1x Shockwave, 1x Grimlock and 1x Hot Rod.

Oh right, maybe that too then. Certainly everyone was there but not nearly as much Megs/Shockers. Shockers already shelf warming from W1 at other places I've seen them.

Hopefully the crown is removable but even if it isn't I his bot mode looks great and I plan to keep him in that mode.

    HOT DAMN!
Very stoked for both of these! So glad I waited on all the other versions of Grimlock in this line so far.
Not a huge Cyberverse fan by any means, but these deluxes so far have been a great line of well-detailed, playable figures,
and I feel like the sculptors (probably TakaraTomy) arranged the designs to look a little bit better than their on-screen versions.

I get people's grievances about Hot Rod, but I personally don't think the arm flaps are too bad, the car mode looks sweet.

    That's what I was thinking.

Shame that he doesn't come with a sword hilt to plug that flame blast into.

To clarify the matter of another wave. All released figures have a cross in grey. The unreleased pair have a pink hash. New photo taken today.

Yep, Arcee and Thunderhowl were listed on the boxes of Wave 1 as coming later than Grimlock and Hot Rod

Because I want it, that's why. Apart from that, these Cyberverse deluxes look pretty much like the characters do on the show (much more so than the toys I grew up with ever did), have good articulation (equal to the Siege line), and are not buggered up by stupid gimmicks (gimmick, the blast effect pieces, yes, stupid, hell no).

All the other Cyberverse stuff looks like horrid kiddy shit to me (and it insults kids, too). Until I saw these, I had entirely written of Cyberverse as just another line of wasted petrochemicals from Hasbro. Now I've spent almost a hundred dollars on the first wave and will most certainly be buying the next lot when they reach me. And on top of that I'm hoping for more deluxes from the show.

This time last year I thought I would never buy from HasTak again. How things can change...

Back of box states first 6 characters (grey cross symbol) available in early 2020, which is now. Arcee & Thunderhowl (pink double cross symbol) for later 2020.
