Yeah, same. Maybe he'll even be a detective in this one. Dare I hope?

How wonderfully glorious it will be to have the first one where he's actually a detective be the one with the twilight guy.

    I certainly dare to hope.

On the other hand, if they've overloaded the movie with villains, there probably won't be time for detective work again.

I'm hoping most of them are only small roles or cameos. But, yea, that does sound like a big problem.

    Depends on the setup.

If they're going with low tech and a film-noir setting like Timm's cartoon, then we could have the following scenario:
    - Catwoman as a femme fatale/thief
    - Penguin as a criminal kingpin
    - Riddler as a criminal mastermind slash informant (I think seeing Riddler and Penguin work together would be welcome)

It'd be easy for a costumed detective to work with the above three character types.

The other three rumored villains - Two-Face, Firefly, Mad Hatter - are a little more on the gimmicky and unreal, not to mention being more diverse and different (especially Hatter with his mind-control tech).

If we’re getting a “back to basics” Batman (which I’m all for), then I hope they’re also not afraid to have Batman lose a few fights, here and there. The uber-capable, master of every martial art Batman, does get old. Let him lose some fights, even retreat if he has to, devise a plan, and try again. I want a cunning Batman that has to use his head to beat the baddies.

Damn, so the other rumours of the batsuit being blue and having expressive white eyes much like the Deadpool suit isn't happening now, bummer.

Still this should be an interesting approach.

Not quite. Apparently it’s just the author's speculation. According to Galvatron II:

I'd be down for that. Seeing Batman get his butt kicked by some thugs here and there. Then, learning from his mistakes. Like he did in the Mask of the Phantasm film. Where they won't afraid of him, so he built a persona them being afraid of him.

I want to see more of that. Of Batman being a process of trial and error. With Bruce learning from his mistakes and creating ways to get around those mistakes so he doesn't make them again. That sounds good.

I like it! It's absolutely nothing like anything I would have chosen but tempering the armor with the modern day pulp of that mask with the exposed seems is kind of inspired. This might be the first armored Batman I don't hate looking at

Jesus that score sounds wonderful, definitely gives off a noir kind of feel, and Pattinson's jawline looks great in the cowl.

I think Firefly could work as like a starter villain, the guy that gets beaten and left for the cops at the very beginning. Two-Face would probably have to appear as Harvey first, have his accident, and be set up for the sequel. I got nothing for Hatter, though.

Two Face is interesting because there's all of about two stories you can tell with him; how he became Two Face or how he gets cured from being Two Face for a while but then goes back to being Two Face. Most of the time he's more useful as a totem of Bruce's failure than an actual antagonist in a story. But as far as movies go, we got a pretty great origin for Two Face in the back half of the Dark Knight, but we've never had him cured only for a strange string of burglaries themed after the number 2 to start occurring.

In regards to Robert Pattinson playing the role of Batman in the upcoming film, there is a possibility that he might ended up being very good in a role as is the case with Michael Keaton playing him back in 1989. Though, I'm most likely going to wait until the film is available to rent on DVD/Blu-Ray like I did with most of the DC related films at this point like Aquaman and Shazam.

I like how the bat symbol on the chest evokes the very first bat symbol he had during his debut. I wonder if they suit they're going is a mixture of both his original first appearance look and the Nolan look especially if they modeled the cowl after the former? Now that'd be unique. The music and lighting gives off a very neo norish feel too.

The bat symbol almost looks like he could remove it and throw it.

Yeah 100% that thing is utilitarian. Not sure how I feel about that, but will wait to see more of it before deciding.
