Last time I checked both of mine, they were relatively fine: the ‘play’ copy still nothing more than a hairline crack on the door and my ‘backup’ copy still almost perfect (no cracks at all, just a small paint chip on the arm). I’ve transformed the play copy about ten times now, and the backup copy twice. Definitely now the MP mold I’ve transformed most of all in my MP-collection. Still somewhat anxious about cracks, but if they appear, they appear.

seems as though no one is safe for the random cracks. I know I was not and basically never mess with my MP's once they are shelved. It's a real bummer that such an awesome figure has sooooooooooooo many issues. What I find funny is how we have all a touch of Stockholm syndrome with MP hound. We should be super pissed when we find the cracks, but we (I among them) are like "oh well...he is just so awesome regardless".

Takara Tomy...the masters of the mind-f*ck!

Not here man. I pay enough for these “masterpieces”. I expect to get what I pay for. And for me that’s a damn near perfect copy. I’m not just gonna bend over and take whatever Takara Tomy dish out. I have standards. I’m currently trying to return this mess.

Oh hey I'm with you. I'm stuck with mine, cause I've had it for well over a month. If mine had cracked within the return window, I would have returned it. But it did not so I will enjoy him regardless... he is a wonderful piece despite the crack. But yeah F U TT.

Honestly, Im just gonna get mine.  Regardless if it developes cracks or not, going to replace it with a new one if they decide to do a QC fix run.  Just as they\'ve done in the past, Im sure the re-release will cost just a tad bit more.  This way, I can get it for the low price its going for now.

Here we go... Got mine from NY today... No visible cracks in alt mode out of the box.

    Transformation happening shortly.

EDIT: Looks like I am one of the lucky ones on day one! My nearly flawless QC track record continues. I've never had to send a figure back yet and Hound is not my first. Very glad as I am not sure I could be bothered with returning to Nippon Yasan in the event of an out-of-box breakage or major issue during first transformation. They are hard enough to throw money at sometimes.

All in all the transformation was not really that bad. Quite impressive engineering really. Super pleased to report I currently have no cracks, no paint issues or chips, no tolerance issues, no tabs malfunctioning or weird gaps that won't close. However as noted by many in this thread we'll see what the future holds in terms of plastic longevity.

Interestingly enough Takara still have that "Long Life Design" logo bottom right on their packaging whilst experimenting with new plastics haha. Gotta love the irony sometimes :D

Quick fist pump from Hound for no breakages:

Ugh....yeah I'm going to live in ignorance and not hold Hound anymore. He'll just be on my shelf.

If a KO or a discounted reissue comes out, I'm down with that.

Dang bro, I was hoping you wouldn't join our club...you were supposed to be the chosen one, bring balance, not join us! All jokes aside, I hope it doesn’t get worse or develop more devastating cracks. My copy showed that same hairline crack. I eventually filed down the post then shaved some of it with an exacto. The crack is visibly gone. the other back of the knee hinge crack is holding strong as are the Jeep door hinges.
    later man

Here are my thoughts on the new Transformers Masterpiece MP-47 Hound. Design wise I think it looks amazing in both modes, with a fantastic transformation seqeuence with some engineering genious especially in the legs/feet.
Luckily mine didnt have any major breakages or cracks, although there is a tiny one that I can see in the head/cannon armature piece. Hopefully the plastic holds up over time.
But for now, it's another great addition to the MP series. It looks great with the rest of the Autobots and really brings out the nostalgia for the G1 cartoon!

Last transformed my Hound on Friday. I think I've transformed him back and forth about eight times now, not being more careful than I am with any of my Masterpieces. My Hound is still going strong, he hasn't developed any cracks yet. I'm starting to feel like time is ticking though before I can join the club. Will keep my fingers crossed during the next transformation, literally. ;)

My Hound is still fine, but I'm reaching the point where I just want to hit him with a hammer so that the stressful anticipation of a break is over...

Number 3 showed up sometime today. Noticed it when I got done with work. Seriously guys. This figure has literally just been standing on a shelf. This is ridiculous! 3B8DC5CC-27DE-4E09-B624-B06035914D89.png

That joint appears to have pressure or prone to more stress by just being in that position.
Mine has that crack on both legs but still holding strong

On the nice surprise side of things... I noticed that Amazon refunded me ¥1309 on my Hound purchase... Guess I got an automatic price match when they lowered the price?

Quite possibly, although last thing I bought from them had a refund on the customs charges that they automatically calculated when I paid. Seems they overestimate so there's no hold up and then process the refund once they've incurred the actual cost.

My poor Hound finally developed a crack on one of the rear calf cover hinges...and three cracks on one of the ankle rocker hinges (I’m particularly excited about those). And, I’m well beyond the AJP return window at this point. Bummer.

Buy another and hope for the best then return the old. What do you have to lose?
